No point joining a site where you don't know Japanese and Google Translate will only take you so far lol.

I dont see the reason to make a new account, It would have been better if we could log-in with our old account. =/
And google translator isn't always accurate.

I like knowing what's going on so I don't see the problem.

Google translator isn't perfect, but I do agree that it's just terrible of use. I remember speaking to JC Akira via FB and I tried to respond to something to translating it back. He asked what did I mean? and I translated what I said back..apparently Google thinks I was talking about noodles and fish walking on sand.

Some slang words aren't in the Google Translators dictionary, so yeah, it will make nonsensical sentences.

Yeah, just avoid slang and use proper wording, and it works fine. I've had no problems communicating so far, but then again I speak properly to begin with

When it comes to DOA terms, it is much more difficult. When someone asks you something in JPN for DOA like this (Ex. JCA asks "What do you think of 46P on block?" in JPN.) You as the person would translate and reword to find out that it was a question about 46P. Now the reverse is the hard part because not only is the grammar understanding different, but you want to word check on what you write back to them as well.

That part I don't mind. From the stuff I type to translate, I notice GT just switches the words around and gives you a rough translation, which I don't really have trouble understanding. Plus there's a few JP and Chinese players on this site, so I don't see how it's dumb or stupid to join theirs.

because people think just because they play Japanese games + watch anime they learned the language via osmosis.

What does that have to do with anything? I didn't automatically assume I knew the language just because I joined.
