It doesn't work on the US one, and I'm scared to make a UK one and discover it won't work and the person I planned on giving the SS too will be disappointed :-/

Didn't they answer yet? Hm...I read contradictory answers to that online. Some say it should work, some say it won't. But if it works or not, I'm sure the person you planned on giving it to wouldn't mind if you tried.
