1) He was once the good adoptive father of ayane that got controlled into Omega, but now he was retconned to Evil since the beginning, which i get was more to show how misguided ayane was, idk. 2) I like his visual a lot, and his weapon-thing. I'm not sure if i like or dislike the retcon about him.
1)Ayane's secretly evil adoptive father who taught her the deadly arts of hajinmon while being her loving father. Turned traitor towards the end of DOA2 thanks to DOATEC and his own hidden agendas, and was soundlessly defeated by Hayate and Ayane with the help of Ryu. Boss of DOA3 and playable in Dimensions.
2) He's an OK fighter imo, his theme Karma was hype, dark, and ethereal and very fitting. His style I liked too and it had potential but could use some nerfs and refactoring. His voice is also cool and sinister. I dislike his evil motives and his character design wise, nothing really eye catching outside of being a boss. His style should go to probably say a younger male competitor created through MIST.
And if his style is added, then yeah definitely refactor and nerf it, his sword stance and GBs and projectiles are probably some of the most OP things I've seen in Dimensions it's ridiculous XD
I know that Genra got fucked by the DOAD retcons. I know that he was a (albeit cool) boss in DOA3. What I like about him: Move set and original characterization. What I dislike about him: His current characterization
Master of the Hajinmon sect and Ayane's foster father, cool character, I think he's the best boss based on gameplay and story, in my opinion. I also know he was the final boss in Megaman Zero 3. After his destruction, Donovan retrieves his mask (hints for the future?) and Ayane obtains his Tokkosho (which she has yet to use for something, lol).
I like his design, style and theme song. Don't dislike anything about him, I wish his style gets used again in the future. Given what I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if Donovan uses a re-imagined version of his style as a boss in a future game.
1) After this retcon of the storyline, I know even less about him now than I did then. And just like some other character I know, we never see the man's face.
2) I like the Genra based on the original storyline. As for the retconned story, what can I like about someone I never really knew? It takes away from whatever emotional weight that was intended for Ayane's DOA3 ending.
