I also don't think they realize how difficult it is to develop a fighting game in this day and age. DOA is so much more stable on a technical standpoint than other current FGs, it's insane. Maybe one day people will wake up, maybe.
Yes, times 10! I like the fact how solid the rock ,paper, sissors system is, its the best part of this game!
I guess those people want to buy more dlc hahaha xD
Some people just got bored of DOA5 as a whole. I mean, think about it. It took them four plus re-do's of the same game just to get things done right. Some people felt cheated about the fact that they have to pay more money for content/characters that should have already been in DOA5 Vanilla for instance. This pretty much why some lost interest.
DOA 5 is definetly an excellent game. But is lacking one key feature that i need to enjoy it more, a good netcode. Sadly there is no fighting game scene where i live, and my enjoyment of FG's is purely online, and while i have one "playable match" every other week, i want more.
And since improvements on netcode aren't happening on DOA5LR, i am welcome to a DOA 6, (and also to tone down the costume selection and to give the game a really good story mode and maybe new characters).
(continuing from my last comment) Not to mention, there are cases when TN took shortcuts and decide to remove the expansions of a few stages (Lorelei, Crimson, etc) and put them in the game incomplete.
There are flaws to the game, don't get me wrong. What I mean is that in comparison, DOA5 (in its entirety) is far more serviceable and open-ended than current FGs.
This also has nothing to do with online play, because ultimately, no FG has perfect online functionality, and they never will.
