Absolutely, but a character who has a change in relational attachments shouldn't be a true outcome to dismantle the character since the character itself still retains it's natural direction of who she is as a person.
If it's a complete change entirely as a "person" and "gameplay" aspects, then I can understand. Though you are kinda giving it thought with dropping the character based on that.
I think part of the strong incest belief is those incest-shippers wanting it to be true. I believe she was obsessed with him because he was the only one in the village aside from Kasumi who treated her like a person, not that it was romantic love necessarily
I was going well with her, playing Dimensions is the thing that dismantled everything, at this point she is the character i'm most confortable with. But i really can't just ignore this thing, not without a conclusion on what really was going on.
Even if it did turn out to be incest (I mean really, Raidou raped a woman that gave birth to Ayane) it's not like the family had complications to begin with. Messed up story up in there, but those characters still kept some sanity within them.
and in every other instance that obsession turns into romance. im not basing this on the fact that im shipping them, im basing it on the fact Itagaki chose a love song to represent them and they were never treated as siblings in the first place.
You shouldn't let a character's interests and feelings fuel you on whether to use them or not. Like I hate that Kasumi is always nice to her dick brother Hayate but I don't not use her because of it.
Like let me tell you. I can blow Akira up too. Akira is quite generic with the plus fact that the character doesn't even have a proper story even in his own game to determine his true direction of resulting factor. Damn Dengeki Bunko showed more of who he is as a person and that's not even his own game, that's a damn crossover and I still use him.
Incest is pretty shady is not something one should ignore... But ok, since it is never really hinted at her feelings towards Hayate in DOA 5. (besides her unique win pose, that also appears when she wins against hayabusa). I'm going to see this as, she could have or noot feelings for hayate as a teenager, but now, if she had, she went over it at some point.
Honestly, i preffer no-development over bad development. Ayane was great in NG games because she appears, does her thing, and leaves when the job is done, is the character i liked, is what got me into DOA and NG at the same time. But continuing, if, she shows anything incestuous again, i'm droping the character, for sure.
Itagaki is not on board and it's still unknown at this case.
I will say however, that if it does lead to that......Ayane is the man of the house and Hayate is the maid. What goes in the house stays in the house lol.
noun
sexual relations between people classed as being too closely related to marry each other.
the crime of having sexual intercourse with a parent, child, sibling, or grandchild.
Wasn't trying to be rude XD But seriously, you're fine. Ayane doesn't want hayate's dick, being in love with someone doesn't always mean they want sex. I've liked lots of high school girls for example and had no desire to fuck, I'd much rather date first.
