Custom soundtracks via USB on a PlayStation console? That would be something. One thing that always disappointed me is that TN never thought of capitalizing on TTT2's Tekken Tunes feature for DOA5LR. Had this happened, my DOA2 Ray House music extensions would have a purpose. Honestly, that should've been DLC by now.
I doubt they will make bc for ps4 even through update. I don't know why a lot want it when you can go on ps3 and play ps3 games and ps2 to play ps2 and ps1 games.
I have a ps3 but tbh I can't use it much anymore XD mom is constantly on Hulu and Netflix so I hardly get to use it much, ps2 I got covered since I still have mine for use in my room whenever I feel nostalgic. I hope the update won't be much MB to download either XD
The kool thing about having PS2 and PS3 run on a PS4, is for the video recording!!!!
There where many times I wished I recorded my speedruns or combos in games.
Backwards compatible is very unlikely since they have to run it as software (emulation because the PS4 does not have the PS3 hardware function drivers, though it does have PS2 functionality surprisingly).
Music is unknown because they have to deal with music rights enabling which costs them money as well. These two overall are very unlikely. Possibly PS3, but software emulation sucks because it doesn't support all PS3 games. Spotify pays for music to some degree.
You can record without having it on ps4. You can record games on ps2 and ps3 you just need to get a capture card. Besides Ps4 recording software not that great anyways. It's ok for simple gameplay though.
I'm not american, PS3's on brazil are still somewhat expensive for what they are, and, i do have conditions to get one, i just can't get anything like a new console for the next year or so. if by then the ps4 doesn't get backwards compatibility, i'm getting a ps3 to play the 3 ~4 games i want to play.
But it is unknown if PS4's software emulation can run those PS3 games since most PS3 games had to use the PS3's full power, which is hardware, not software.
Software emulation is not super impressive because some of those is using pseudo engine. The game's running speed will be affected by it too, which is why Sony feels backwards compatible is hard on price to some degree.
Also pointing out that there are no drivers to run PS3 games on the PS4 even if it had the actual hardware. By that logic if it did, you merely had to insert a PS3 game in there. But what does the PS4 say when you do insert one? "Unreadable disc" why? because there is no drivers. Drivers are physical. They'd have to make a "whole" new PS4 just to add PS3 drivers.
