@KasumiLover69 It has a small 20GB hard drive in it which I'm guessing is the default official microsoft one that came with the system. I'll have to open the HDD thing to check but according to what I've read it should be all I need

@Dbomb Maybe, google has been no help

Yeah that's the one except the metallic parts on the hdd thing and disc drive are plain plastic on mine.

Chapstick
Yes, but with the HDD compartment on top

Yeah I think that'll need a hard drive emu. From what I remember some don't come with the emulation, mine for example actually needed a hard drive since the console provides you with very little space, forcing you to have to get one eventually

I'm not sure what's going on then. It could be a faulty HDD.

You say your 360 is up to date, but you haven't been able to connect to Live. How did you confirm then that you have the latest update? Did you check your dashboard version number?

The system recognizes the HDD just fine. Is it possible it's still faulty despite that?

& Hmm. I didn't check to make sure it was the right version number which I should have. I just went into the settings and did the system update after DOAU wouldn't play.

I'd imagine that there could still be problems with a HDD, even if the console recognizes it. Even though it works, it might still be able to have emulation problems. I don't know. I'm not anywhere near as knowledgeable about the 360 as I am the original Xbox.

My system's on the latest version, just checked. Still have no clue why it wouldn't let me create a live account I filled just about everything out then it got to a loading bar where it says it's creating the account and it stops saying there was an error. I'll need to do it again to get the error #, probably tomorrow when I feel like fighting with it again

You could also try creating an account on xbox.com, then later try to recover it to the 360.

I don't really know what else to say. I've never heard of this issue before and have always been able to play Xbox games on my 360, though I never do so because Xbox games run much better on an actual Xbox, plus the Xbox and its games are way easier to mod.

Hi Chappy I can try to make you an account and you can try to recover it if you'd like.

@Forlorn Penguin The place I got this from also had an original xbox for $50 and I was debating whether I should get that or this and this seemed like a better deal because I assumed I'd just be able to play both systems' libraries. But here we are lol

@Dr Snipe I'm going to try doing it on the website myself first, I'll let you know if it's still giving me problems

Just incase, I think @Hazard has one as well and could probably help as well.

Looking through all the previous comments, there's not much more I can add. Mentioned original Microsoft HDDs having the emulation software, but note just because it's a 20GB hard drive doesn't mean it's automatically official, but as for making a live account I really don't know what's giving you an error, unless Xbox Live itself was just having issues.

When I go to storage devices it says "Microsoft" next to the hard drive so I think it's official.

I also was able to read Fujitsu on the hard drive through the little holes and read that's the type they used

You should note this, when I was looking up hard drives I read somewhere that just because it says Microsoft doesn't mean it's always official, especially since it's refurbished. If signing in doesn't work I would just buy one from gamestop, a 20GB one

@Chapstick, yeah I don't blame you. To the ill informed, that logic makes sense, but unfortunately that's just not the case.

Only a handful of Xbox games run well on 360. Luckily, DOA2U is one of them, but DOA3 has issues and DOAX isn't supported. I have no idea how DOA1U runs.
