You have nothing to worry about, I'm impatient. Rather than practicing setups and tech, like I should be, it's more fun to derp around against the computer and passively pick up whatever combos work. Hahaha. You and I both are susceptible to getting beat by mashers. If I'm to stand a chance...

I mean, there are countless people out there you can best in Street Fighter, myself included, because you put in way more thought than the next player. To be fair, I haven't played since childhood, so I have a lot of ground to cover. Now, you better hope I don't catch you within the year. :p

Haha, I don't mind it at all. I love these conversations, talking with other knowledgeable and intelligent players is one part of "getting gud". xD That's why I came here. I'd be disappointed if I wasn't getting alerts as a result of these conversations. I'm not gonna go whoring for attention or...

The way you look at it all from the outset can make a big difference, it never stops being fun, and really, should get even more fun the more your abilities increase. EDIT: To your point about anti-airs, I mean, it's a tool in the box, you have to use it, right? And figuring out the best time...

They're synonymous, but I can see how "work" might have bad connotations. It's important to find enjoyment in what you do after all. But if one wants to "git gud" it requires work. Work that I enjoy doing. Btw, after reading "Mindset", the words "work" and "effort" carry a much more positive...

So can we agree that no matter what game you want to play, if you expect to be any good at it, you need to dedicate yourself to learning the moves?

That sounds awesome. I remember seeing a BlazBlue video that somehow lead me to another franchise I'll check out: Skullgirls. Yeah, I said it. Don't care, love the art style.

    Meter: Yay or nay?

I don't know about you, but I've never found those types of games exciting. I rather enjoy the consistent effort needed to memorize several strings of input, and to pick apart the mechanics. These things can chase off anyone who doesn't learn to love patience. Silly as it sounds, fighting games...

It's a cool effect. I like the lighting on the stages too. The gameplay itsself looks smooth too, I love Tekken's stripped down style compared to all the "bells and whistles" of DOA (even though it's a basic feature, I'm including holds when I say that). I'm not gonna complain too much about...

These days I live like a hermit and rarely go outside except for work, plus I prefer the comforts of home as well (can't play with a stick anyway). I remember T6 being smooth too.

Yeah, not sure if any of them have any of the earlier versions of Tekken, though. I remember one of my friends having a PS2, so I'll go that route.

@Shirataki Tsume, For me it's just the feels. I love the Szechwan theme, and it was the first game I played on Playstation. The gameplay may not be the best, but I'll be damned if it wasn't fun.

@Force_of_Nature Thanks for the clarification, I notice in both instances there is a good window of time for an attack (if your opponent performs a tech roll or if you force them off the ground).

Ah, smaller movesets. Lighter workload at least. I'm not too worried about the 1-frame inputs...just gotta buckle down like always. Not saying it'll be easy, but I'm undaunted.

@Shirataki Tsume That's a relief (for when I finally pick up SF). DOA has similar leniency with regard to inputs too. I can't count how many times I'll input (for example) Honoka's 33T and end up with an additional 2 input in-between and still end up pulling the move off. xD
