I buy too many games for my Vita and barely play. I love the damn thing but I just can't justify playing it at home. Only really play it when I travel. I am looking forward to Sigma 2 Plus and DoA5 Plus, though. Should be a great first quarter.

The VF characters did take up development time that could have been spent getting DoA vets into the game, so it's not exactly way off-base to make a statement like that. Might not have been the intent, but it can be seen that way without much stretching.

It was, yes, but the stun system was completely different and it didn't make up the entire game. Plus, there were a ton of totally broken things in those games. Slope infinites, back stun infinites with water, and other random nonsense that was a lot of fun.

That was DoA2U and it was the Burai Zenin. We had a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller scene back then as well, tournament-going and otherwise.

The argument could be made to ban plenty of stages for various poor design decisions. Home you can be glitched through the wall right at the start (player two), Sanctuary restarting you in water, player two starting with their back to the RPG in Hotzone or whatever it's called, player one (IIRC)...

People just have a short attention span. As for anything being a final verdict, I doubt it, but everyone I know that runs or helps run tournaments is at least on board with banning End of the Earth. None taken. I'm trash at this game, but my observation seems to be relatively common. In my defense I never said I don't use the sidestep. I just find I get smacked out of it nearly 100% of the time because they're still pushing buttons.

Nearly everyone I'm fighting has a 1 for connection rating lol. The good news is that my scrubby Mila just out-scrubbed a few scrubs.

There isn't currently a point to sidestepping most of the cast since they'll just realign simply by mashing. Only real exceptions are Hitomi and other characters with several single strike moves that are easy to see coming.

Marketing budget went towards community events, print, and internet advertising. Not surprising to me.
