This is kind of the equivalent of asking for a porno with better dialogue, at the end of the day people are here for the fighting - everything else is just filler.

I can think of 2 other things (4 once #6 incorporates the new physics introduced in doax3) that people come to the series for ;).

Yeah, story is the least important part of this game. Smooth fighting in large, impressive arenas was always the draw for me.

Story modes in fighting games are a joke imo so when TN decided to go down this "throw everyone into one big story" path it just became a big mess imo where some characters ended up getting more play time than others. Like how many times did you get to play as Kasumi in many different locations? Compare that to Brad who had three fights (two of those being against Eliot at Home stage). I prefer that everyone have an equal amount of cutscenes and their own unique ending (no matter how ridiculous it is XD).

And as 5 showed us that type of start-finish story closes off any new characters that are added to the game (as opposed to DOA 2-4 where each character's 8 stage story play through were standalone so giving DLC character's cutscenes+ending would have made more sense).
