Having been here for a few months, I've noticed the main subforums seem maybe a little too cluttered. Locked and unlocked threads are all over the place, not to mention threads which have been open for over a year are still existing without replies.
Of course, some threads are necessary, like those in the Character sections, but concerning the main DOA5 subforum since it's the most active, it's quite messy. So what I propose is setting up an Archives subforum under each game to dump all locked threads there, because you're not actually deleting the thread, but moving it to a location where it can be used for further reference.
So if a thread in the DOA5 subforum should be deemed locked, it can be closed and then sent to the Archives under DOA5.
Also concerning locking of threads, outdated threads (over a year old) and duplicate threads should be locked and sent to the Archives automatically to tidy up the clutter unless they are threads of importance like DOA5U Gen Discussion or threads of a similar sort, as well as threads in Character sections like Combo topics, Top 10 move topics, etc. Left to staff discretion.
Furthermore, maybe a Staff Archives can also be set up as well (only viewable to staff members), where offensive topics, advertising topics, piracy topics and whatnot can be moved. Since it can't be seen by regular members, it minimizes forum disruption.
I also propose a Strike feature (as in 3 strikes and you're out) instead of a ban on sight since I do think it's a bit severe. While trolls are annoying, some members do improve once you talk to them and send them a warning. I don't know if it's a feature already implemented where you give a member chances to improve, but it should be something official to help reduce the animosity around here.
Thought I'd leave some suggestions since I really do like FSD and want to see it improve it a bit. Maybe it's a bit too much to ask, but I think it would benefit the forum and the community in the long run.
