I have a question for our offline tournament players, and players who wish to attend future tournaments.
I'm asking everyone in here from East Coast, Central and West Coast US players. How many of you would be interested in attending SoCal Regionals 2014 for DOA5U? The event will be in Irvine CA on Febuary 28th till March 2nd.
SoCal Regionals 2013 had 32 players for DOA5, which is a good number for DOA. We can get the same number, or possibly more next year if more players show interests in attending. Active SoCal DOA players are attending Wednesday Night Fights every week for DOA, making some good progress. The new SOCALDOA brand are upcoming with promoting DOA5U here in California and are a growing brand. And it will grow with time.
So as far as exposure for the game goes out here, we're working on it. As well as improving in the game, too. Some of us (like myself but I am also improving) are helping players learn the game and spark their interests every week at Super Arcade and SCD's (SOCALDOA) weekly casuals.
Alex Valle likes DOA5U and wants to see our game and our players gain more initiative. However, I feel as though if more players everywhere in our community show the interests of having DOA5U at SCR and even NCR, and we prove that we care about our game like we claim. We may increase our chances of having our game at these majors, as main games (obviously work and details are to be done but you get my point). DOA5U is a main game at WNF.
I want DOA5U to be at both of these major events, because personally, I have a lot of making up to do since I missed out on a lot of DOA5. And there are many other tournament players I wish to combat with offline. In the game, and respectfully, of course.
