Is Story Mode avoidable¿

Now that the game is only a week away, I suppose some of you have info on how to unlock most stuff. I personally couldn't care a damn about the story. Especially since it doesn't revolve around the lesbian fight over the cabbage like I told myself it was during the last seven years. I'd like to know if it's possible to unlock all characters and costumes via versus, online and the other offline modes like Survival and Team Battle or will I have to endure the story¿

Apparently costumes are unlocked through Story modes, Time Attack & some special Online modes? I'm guessing like DOA4 where you could buy the costume with points from winning matches. This is just from a rough translation from a Japanese DOA5 blog, so I'm not sure how true it is.

You can unlock costumes either entirely offline or online, or a mixture of both. Characters I don't know

It's likely that the characters could be unlockable just through the story mode like tradition of the fighting games.

The only certain thing is that to unlock Alpha152 you must collect all the titles from the "side missions" of the story mode, so at least a character need to play it.
