Excitedly announced at the latest Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo now has their first big shot at developing a Pokémon game in collaboration with Game Freak and Nintendo. This title is called Pokopia and it's the first Pokémon Builder to my knowledge that also looks to have growable crops in a similar fashion to Harvest Moon. You'll be interacting with Pokémon as a Ditto that turns itself into a Trainer in a wholesome Animal Crossing shaped world.
The concept itself is immediately interesting; especially considering that the series has been going down a tired and beaten path for years. Boring is the way I would sum up most Pokémon games this generation and at the very least there is an intriguing idea set out for the players that isn't a few cities, eight gym leaders and an elite four. It would surprise me if Hayashi's newly formed 'AAA Studios' is behind this, but I will provide information for the game as it comes to me for those interested.
It's quite a big piece of news for Koei Tecmo. They've worked on all types of Nintendo games, but a Pokémon title is breaking new ground.
