It was fun while it lasted, but yet another good tournament down in the books. It was a great weekend for the ages both during the event and outside of the event. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the streamed matches and the streamed casuals. A total of 23 players came and thew down. There were actually a lot more people that played the game in Tennessee than I personally thought I must say. @Vandy did extremely well, running this tournament. In the end, it was a 3-peat moment for @SweetRevenge117, despite the valiant effort from Shade Swifteye.

Top 8 Results:
1. Sweet Revenge:genfu:Gen Fu
2. Shade Swifteye :kasumi:Kasumi :mila:Mila :hayate:Hayate
3. AFD Requiem :helena:Helena
4. GG Chosen 1 :rig:Rig :bradwong: Brad Wong
5. Dallaz :hayabusa:Hayabusa:hitomi:Hitomi
5. J.D.E.:kasumi:Kasumi
7. Bushido :kokoro:Kokoro
7.Max Ninja :momiji:Momiji

If you missed out on some of the action, look up www.twitch.tv/sixfortyfive in the archives.

All of this is told in my point of view from here on out. This was what I wanted for our scene here. There were actually lots of people who liked this game that came to check it out. Max Ninja is a Memphis player. He plays Momiji. He just now picked up the game and loves it. I had a top 8 losers bout with him. The match got pretty tense at times. He made some great reads against my Kasumi. If he continues to study the game, he will be a solid Momiji player. We will keep in touch to one day play casuals and continue to build the Tennessee area scene.

For the whole entire weekend, BladerRD (Desjah Rei) a fellow Tennessee player who plays Momiji, Chosen 1, & Shade Swifteye (Shade) were pretty much my running buddies. We stayed together at Blader's house & then close to venue at a hotel. We would all meet up with Sweet Revenge, Dallaz, Ratiz and @Requiem (CJ) to eat and play some casuals. We would eventually meet up with @Bushido, yet another Tennessee player as I am. We actually play a lot on PSN, but it was great to finally meet him offline as well as CJ, a member that I was already friends with who comes from California.

A group picture that some of us took before everybody split up.
Besides the group picture, here are some pictures of what went down this weekend:

These guys are fun to be around. They're very chill, know how to have a good time, and can supply you with whatever you need when you don't have it. That's pretty much what I do regardless of how I perform in the event anywhere that I go. Special shout outs to them!

My personal advice that I could give from a newcomer's perspective is to not try to jump outside your comfort zone. What I mean by that is when you're playing, if you don't worry about "how you're going to perform". That is the key to doing well on stream along with studying your characters. I just wanted to put that out there for some of you to know because so many are nervous of how they're going to be received by people. You're not out to play for other people. You're out to play for you. That's something that was in my mind the whole time that I was playing. While I study this game and learn everything that it has to offer, I'm playing for me. It's what I like to do. Keep that in mind. Another thing that I keep in mind is that video games is often my sanctuary. It is what eases my mind. Games are fun.

Overall, this weekend was amazing! With Winter Brawl and Final Round right around the corner, this is what the community needs. I hope everybody that can make it to either one of them come on out! In the meantime, brace for it!

It was a great watch. Sadly, the stream was full of hate by people who don't even play DOA. I'll never understand why its there honestly. It was great to see the players who switched between commentating and playing that it didn't effect there great mood they were projecting.

Again, a great watch. I really enjoyed it. Congratulations to all of them.

That's what my last few paragraphs revert back to. You're not playing for them. It's for your benefit. People are always going to have something to say.

Ignore it. You will always have people like that.

The good thing is that no matter what the situation will be...You will always have positive people who enjoy the series and support the game.

Going to offline tournaments, meeting new people and having fun. This means a lot because it's a grand experience for people in a different kind of level that people enjoy watching and doing. So I'll say....keep doing what you guys been doing. Let no one stop you.

I'd rather watch tournament streams rather than go or participate in one. But congrats to the Top 8 and I hope that DOA5U continues to garner more interest.

NOOO I missed it when it finally was in Tennessee FML
I recommend seeing that you can get with Max Ninja with some casuals over there. I can't remember if he said PSN or 360, but his tag is MaxNinja15. I need to add him myself.

Thanks everyone for supporting DOA at KiT. I had a blast hanging out with you guys!

If you did not make it out I hope you were able to catch it on stream. Some very good games in the top 8. I had a lot of people there say watching it made them want to play!

That's just what Stream Monsters do. You don't pay a single attention to them. They aren't at the event so their opinion doesn't matter.
