System Most efficient DLC method

I'm trying to figure out what is the most cost effective way to get all the content. Right now it's about 20USD to buy a special pack for Core Fighters, while some (if not all) of that material already exists on the disk version. What is the best way to get more bang for my buck assuming that i don't have CF or retail?

Before I try and answer this can I ask what all is included in the special pack? Is it every character (including MR)?

Supposedly all characters (except Marie, Phase 4, and the new ones) and all costumes from 5U and before, but not the DLC. Story mode, music packs, etc are not included.

Out of sheer curiousity I calculated the total cost of the DLC and it's $223, but with the current sale it's "only" $203.

When you factor in the $40 for 5U, along with the $80 worth of DLC that came bundled with it, and the $80 collector's edition of vanilla there's people out there who paid over $400 for DOA5 and we're not even done yet. The future looks bright ;p

Ah okay if MR was included I would say go for the special pack but since she isn't I personally would just buy the disc version. It's price has dropped (more so if you're okay with a used version). I'd go to a local gamestop and check what the price is now it might even be close to $20 already.

At least for gamestop online you could buy it new for $22 and around $18 pre-owned. In terms of DLC outfits I honestly don't know how it would all add up. There were outfits included in the 5U retail version that was left out in CF (but then looking at the special pack it may also include it).

Given the time i want to play it, then, I'm actually saving 5 dollars by getting the downloadable version, since i'd probably end up paying an extra 20 in 1 day shipping, while 15 is the price of the storyline.

EDIT: And truth be told, that's assuming i even end up downloading the story mode.

Sorry I should have clarified. Do you have a local gamestop where you can go pick up a physical copy? I would definitely not buy it online given the shipping fee BS.

And I'll save you the trouble if you go the CF+pack route don't buy the story mode. It's definitely not worth it and the only good thing that comes from it (cutscenes) can all be found on youtube. ;)

I have a local gamestop, but i doubt they'd have a copy... Lemme check.

Edit: There might be ONE copy there. Maybe i'll be lucky and this used PS3 will aleady have some goodies on it. Though, the last time i bought a used sony system, i had a lot of smut to clean off of it, and nothing good left behind.

By the way, I just got the bundle thing and it gave me like 100+ separate downloads for all the costumes and characters. It's pretty silly. I expected a single bundle. Honestly, I would have gotten the disk if I had known.

I heard about that complaint too. Is there a way to "download the disk" onto the HD so i don't have to take the disk out every time i want to switch games?

You can download the retail version (it's still $40 I think) but unfortunately cannot convert the disc copy into a digitial form where you could play the game w/o the disc being in the device as far as I'm aware.

Then, despite the multiple downloads, i think the bundle is the way to go: in the long run disk switching can be a pain. I wish most of my 3ds games (DoA especially) were available as downloadables or that i could trade my game in for a downloadable and keep the save. Although that shouldn't be as much of a problem with a console, it will be anyway. As a result, for many people, it'd make more sense to grab CF. It's not for everyone, though. Also, can i queue the downloads?

I have the retail disc, but I might buy this dlc pack because I use CF to reduce stress on my dying blu ray reader and I don't have a majority of the 5 vanilla outfits so I'd be getting a deal anyhow.

When you hit download it all goes right into your 'download management' under 'internet search' in the network part* of the XMB. All the downloads I'm guessing will be 100kb so it'd probably be better to just sit and let them run their course in the store so they install instantly rather than use download in the background option and have to go through and click each one to install them later.

By the way the bundle included all the 81 additional costumes from DoA5 and 5+, but not outfits added in DoA5U DLC packs.

My personal plan is to just get the few dlc costumes I want for the chars I use, and just wait till there's some big discount for all of the rest down the road.

What's worse is PSN's glitch where if you download 20-25 items in a row, they kick you off PSN and the only way to reset it is to literally reset your console. You'll get an error message somewhere around the 20-25th item.

What do you mean by "in a row?" 25 downloaded before installing? That sounds like a stack issue.
