OKC tournament interest check

So, I have been wanting to get a tournament going in the OKC area. I was thinking of calling it the "Bible Belt Beatdown." My original plans were delayed due to whiskey spilling on my laptop but I am still wanting to do this. I noticed there are no tournaments for any fighters in this state. The closest ones are in TX. I would like to change that fact. If enough people are interested, lets get this thing going. I used to promote for raves and have a few good hookups for venues. Any thoughts? Think this could work? I'm also wanting to include other fighting games. I just want to pick ones that have a decent size community in this area. Let me know what you think.

OKC and Tulsa use to have some of the best Soul Calibur players around. Most have moved on to other games. I know there is a DOA scene growing in Wichita, KS. The group is welling to travel. One of my friends came all the way out here for SCR this year. OKC, Wichita, and KC all have monthly's for all kinds of fighters. I gave the link for the OK site and the KS FB group, there's a good start.

Thank you for sharing. I am actually an oldskool Soul Caliber player myself. (hate V though). I also grew up in Overland Park KS. I am wanting to include a few other games besides DOA. I am thinking GG, BB, VF5FS, and SCV (uuuugh...lol) in order to increase interest. I would love for your group to come out once I get this set up. I just want to be sure I can get enough people to show for it to be worth it for me to call in some favors on a venue and equipment. Plus, I am working on getting a nice sized pot together to make it worth peoples time to travel.

lol yah V killed it for me, last tournament I played it at was OKC Tulsa 3 years ago. Before I moved out to SOCal. I was trying to get more people to play 3d fighters. Theirs a lot of SF and Marvel players around but they are finally getting into 3D and Blaz/GG now. Wichita seems to be doing the best as they have a bar and a few gaming lounge places to play now. KC also has a good tekken scene as well

This is all great news to me. I did not know KS/MO/OK had a scene. That is why i feel i should hold this tourney. I am an ex rave promoter so I def have the hookup on venues. If i get enough interest here and on the other fighting game forums, I will definitely make this happen,
