Is there any videos of him doing the air throw from handstand?

Also have you played the game or did gather all this just from watching? Impressive work nonetheless.

  • back turned :H+P::Link: :H+P: follow up is guaranteed
  • :4::H+P: follow up is guaranteed

Out of curiosity what moves are guaranteed. BT 4P i'm assuming?

i don't think so. if there are, it's not something that i've come across.

i haven't played the game, this is based off what i've seen from various different videos.

i'm not 100% sure if anything is guaranteed, but a second throw looks like it is. hopefully launchers too, if they're quick enough. and of course, a nice long combo if your opponent doesn't know how to slow escape.

If this is the case with his BT throw, I don't think it would change much. In DOA4, p+k could only be ducked and 6p+k could only be back dashed.

If anything it adds more possibility of them nerfing it.

moves:
  • :1::P:(:P:) can lead to handstand
  • laying head towards :K: can lead to handstand
  • :1_::K:(:K:) can lead to handstand
  • :1_::K::K::K: can force tech
  • :3::K: can lead to dokuritsu
.

Thanks a lot for the info!

I've some questions tough:

Can stances be entered with specific commands or are they always entered through other moves?

Also, what is a force tech? (excuse my ignorance)

  • kk is just a regular stun. In DOA4 you could oki/force tech if the stun wasn't countered out of using 1k(k)
  • 3kpp/p6pp/3pp doesn't lead into 1kk.
  • 8k+f gives high launch on neutral. LFT k relaunches 3kpp 8p hits (iirc 7k instead of 8p on light)
  • I don't know if you can force get ups with a juggled by using delayed 1pk anymore. I tried but the timing may have changed since they tightened up input windows and tech rolling windows have change as well.
  • You can't walk around in handstand.
  • Entering LHT from BT now hits as well.
  • BT throw cancel feels exactly the same. p+k can only be ducted, 6p+k may still be back dashable.
  • You can jab from DHO (4k).
  • 9pp/DHO k+fpp The initiation is longer for the last punch.
  • 66p is his critical burst. Iirc it guard breaks on block. Obviously doesn't knock back/down on hit.
  • 1p+k is his power blow.
  • 8p and 1f+k are his side step p and k moves. 8p may guarantee a throw on normal like in DOA4 but launches on critical and 1f+k stuns on normal and crushes highs.

After playing him, it feels like he hasn't changed much at all. Just got to get used to how DOA5 plays.

what are the left and right inputs for? rolling out of
handstand?.
The handstand's 44/66 allows him to spring out of stance back to normal.

I like this. What is the move exactly? Mule kick?
He jumps up and kicks you in the face and lands on his ass, in LFT. High kick that crashes lows.

Unless they've change the input, 4p+k is no longer.... wait maybe 4p+k is his power blow. Can't remember. Yep, it's his power blow.

The 10 frame jab should allow him to really keep up with the rest of the cast now. p6p is going to be a beast now.

What is the fastest attack in DOA? What about grabs, how fast are they? (sorry if this is general knowledge)

in 5 Kasumi, Jan Lee, Christie and Eliot have a 9 frame jab. Counters and some Sabakis are intiate in 1 frame.

Unless something has changed, breakable throws are 5 frame, fast unbreakables are 7 frame.

pp is a natural combo (can't be countered) which means you can use that to set up p6p (by doing p free cancle, pp or pp grab a lot) and then use that to set up p6pp which stuns on natural and launches on counter or just p6p mixup (throw for guaranteed damaged, or do whatever else). Brad Wong has one of the easiest/fastest Critical Burst setups in the game's build so far (may change). Which then means either a nice combo and juggle (if you don't screw up the inputs) or a powerblow. Either way a lot of damage is dealt.

Could also set up p6p by using pk or pk4.

The point is, it's a viable option now since it has more chance to jab the opponent out mid string, or during their mixups.

I suddenly feel interest for Eliot. LOL 9 frame jab + 1 frame Sabakis/reversals/Parries sounds pretty good.

5 and 7 frame throws! That's super fast!

Wait a second, since when do Jann-Lee and Eliot have 9f jabs? As far as I know Eliot has a 9f attack that beats out 9f jabs, but I've never heard of Jann-Lee having anything.

From his dragon stance. 9 frame jab or 10 fram mid. You can enter stances at the start of the round. What's Eliot's attack?
