The first I heard of that was in DOA3. I don't know if it was done for the DOAs before it. I saw no difference there, maybe it is a myth.

Actually, now that you mention it, I remember him saying something on twitter or facebook about Team Ninja basically completely redoing Hayate, he said something like "Fuck it, I'll make my own Hayate model!" lol So I wouldn't really put it past him to use some of these models, create his own, or seriously update the one's he already has. I remember he showed us a picture of a really nicely updated Hitomi, she's hot. Then he posted this pic the other day of Rinoa fighting aircraft's and saying "One frame down, several million to go..."
