I can't be the only MMA fan on this site!

I think Anderson is dropping that belt tonight. Chris is a wrestler and vs. Anderson I always side with the wrestler. Sure, he always wins but I absolutely feel that his number is coming up and tonight is probably the night.

Who you guys got?

Anderson fucked up, plain and simple.

He didn't take Chael lightly but he decided to play with a guy better than him?

I saw nothing in that fight that tells me Weidman beats an Anderson who is trying - automatic rematch.

Im going to start calling his ass Andy Silver again from now on, he doesn't deserve to be called Anderson Silva anymore.

That fight was like if Microsoft had decided to keep the DRM in the X1.

LMFAO

Could it be that he dropped the fight ON PURPOSE, and just tried to make it "look" like a decent show?

Let's not start with the conspiracies. Andy is getting old now, and he was going to get caught one day when doing his schickt - and today just happened to be that day. I mean why would he chose to sully his legacy in embarrassing fashion, when instead he could have won the fight, collected the extra 200k, turn down the next title defenses (seeing as he no longer wants them anymore apparently), and then moved onto the superfights?

Also why didn't I put money on Weidman goddamn it! But yeah, pretty good card imo. The only real stinker was Kennedy v Gracie

Tim Kennedy is a boring fight!? Say it aint so! :D

The only thing that really, really disappointed me on the card was Chris Leben getting worked over the way he did. . .and that judge that gave him the fight 29 -28. . .what the fuck was he watching? Also, Tim got a 30 - 27 from one (or two) of those judges and Roger Gracie out grappled him easily in round 1.

Yeah you're right too, all these people talking about Silva losing on purpose and a UFC conspiracy need to read what you just wrote.

  • He made less money
  • He lost in an extremely embarrassing fashion
  • There are no super fights in his future so his legacy as the best ever (If he cares about that) is always up for debate.
The big winner here was Chris Weidman - Yeah, i know he won the strap. . .but this was his LAST FIGHT ON HIS CONTRACT.

Hes about to be making 400K, or more, to fight from here on in and if you know this guys story you'd be extremely happy for him. (FYI He lost his house during super storm sandy)

Oh and I found this over at sherdog.com - real funny.

Yeah, I don't think losing was what he had.planned but if this leads to a bunch of fight we would not have seen I'm all for it.

Anderson vs Bisping

Anderson vs Rashad

Anderson vs Nick Diaz

Anderson vs Frank Mir

Anderson vs Cung Le

Anderson vs Wanderlei Silva

There's more interest now that he lost...I don't need to see that rematch right now :D

Shit Andy is probably going to end up fighting on Fox or FX for free!

And with Chris as champ we'll get

Weidman vs Belfort

Weidman vs Munoz 2

Weidman vs Rashad

Weidman vs Jacare

In retrospect Andy getting KO'd was great for.me as a fan - sucks for the UFCs pocket book but...ya know, fuck em.

One possibility is that Silva just wanted (in some way) to piss off Dana White, which I'm sure HE DID!!! I think it's been documented before that White doesn't like when Silva "trolls" opponents the way he does since it shows he is not taking the fights seriously. And since Dana White WAS looking forward to promoting champion vs champion "superfights" like Silva/Jones and Silva/GSP, and Silva didn't seem interested (particularly with fighting Jones), he went into this fight trolling Wiedman so hard, he was GUARANTEED to piss off Dana White no matter the end result of the fight.

So with that said, and also considering the "relief" Silva seems to express in no longer holding the title, it seems that Silva really did win big here!
