Would the PS4 version having crossplay with the PS3 version, and the Xbox One version having crossplay with the Xbox 360 version mean that the current gen versions would have to have the same shitty netcode as the past gen versions in order for them to be compatible?

If so, fuck crossplay. I'd rather have good netcode on the current gen versions.

DOA5U's assy netcode is entirely on TNs end, nothing to do with PSN or XBL since other online games run smooth and much better than DOA5 including other fighters like TTT2 and Final Showdown. When you take an already mediocre netcode and add in other players own shitty yahoo dsl connections then you get what we have now with 5U. If TN continues with their same netcode quality it will be the same on current gen versions whether they have crossplay or not.

Hard to say. Depending on finances It could be 3 out of the 4. Only thing that's guaranteed is that it won't be PS3.

I'll be playing on PS3. I got it two years ago.I barely touched it last year(I've always been late for consoles ) and I'm hoping to maximise my play library. I'll transfer everything when I get a PS4 eventually.

I'm not advocating one system over another. I will most likely get it for both PS4/X1 and one last gen system. But for those who have the money for an X1 right now and are willing not to spend the gift card, you can technically get LR for free with the X1 promotion that MS Store has going on, but it ends on 09/15. You get a Kinect-less X1, Madden 15, your choice of any other game out for the system (including Destiny since it releases tomorrow), and a $50 Xbox gift card all for $399. Just putting this out there.

PS3 definitely, specially since the digital version is $10 cheaper and I don't have to buy a whole new console to play. But that's really my issue with current generation right now. A lot of games announced for PS4 and Xbox One are also available on PS3 and Xbox 360. Since graphics aren't really important to me, why spend money on a brand new console for games that are still available on my PS3? PS4 does have some exclusive current gen games I do want, but if a game that's on PS4 is also coming to PS3, I'd rather just pick it up for my PS3.

Warriors Orochi Ultimate 3 ended to get some exclusivities for PS4 (neither for the next gen, but just for the Sony console):

The PlayStation 4 version of the title has the known changes planned:

• Standard option to live record and comment through the Share button. User comments may trigger hidden commands to make recovery items appear, attack surrounding foes with elemental effects, etc.
• Different effects and lighting techniques and higher resolution graphics.
• 150 more enemy soldiers on the screen.
• Cross save and play between other ports with several bonuses for the PlayStation 4 version.
  • Three additional scenarios in Unlimited Mode.
  • Bonus in-game currency and stock experience points.
  • 20 original wallpapers.
  • Two of all materials in Unlimited Mode already collected.

First print purchases come with downloadable Toukiden collaboration costumes for Kaguya, Taigong Wang, and Nuwa.

I hope that this will not happen even with DoA5LR.
