Hmm, so this is how it's like. Interesting. Anyways, maybe if the interview worded itself better when they explained of making changes. Honestly it did sounded like they are trying to please certain people who has this personal problem with the fanservice.

That's what people have been saying for a month.

The problem is that people ultimately want to be proven right more than they want to be proven wrong...
It's dumb when I look on the DOA Reddit and you actually have people saying that the fanservice must be what people talk about DOA the most because when they stopped talking about the "controversy" for a week, there was "crickets"... in a Reddit that barely any DOA players actually frequent compared to Facebook groups and FSD.

It doesn't help when they say "Well what happens when SC6 gets more entrants at EVO than DOA6" as if that also proves their point...when SC6 is almost finished and DOA6 will still be in alpha/beta stage(same reddit, by the by.).

The problem is that no one ever wants to be proven wrong, even when evidence is right in front of their face. I bet you, if EVO actually does show off the jiggle physics and some of the original costumes of the playable demo characters, people will STILL find a way to spin it to a negative because they don't want to be proven wrong no matter how much they want to say.
They just want to see themselves as being correct.

This thread quickly escalated into a hopeless train wreck.

There is a part of me that believes that if the TN staff members and spokespersons kept a lid on the subject of sexuality in DOA6, there would have been much less drama to follow.

In addition, DOA6 appears to be more or less the same as it were in the previous games. The only real thing that might be toned down are the nature of the DLC costumes. Otherwise, the female characters (and, by extension, the males) still appear to be attractive. Insult to injury, the game is only... 10% done. I made this point only a few times in the past but the only thing we can do until more official information is produced is theory fight and speculate about the good stuff that may happen in the future. Being worried about the games success is one thing, but going too mad over a piece of information (and potentially taking it out of context) or bad information is not going to help anyone in the long run.

What honestly pisses me off the most...is when people use the "DOA's fanservice is everything, it's like removing blood and gore from Mortal Kombat" schtick and they completely miss the point. Mortal Kombat's blood and gore is NOT what keeps people playing the game...because if it was, it would have failed just like all of it's clones once people got past MK1 and MK2. But we know that's not the case because Mortal Kombat still ultimately offers things even to this day that most other fighting games cannot.

Mortal Kombat's blood and gore, just like DOA's fanservice, was always a means to get people to get INTO the game while the gameplay gets people to STAY. Team Ninja(or to be far more fair, Koei Tecmo forcing Team Ninja) with DOA5LR completely missed that boat and went way too deep in the fanservice which is causing this extremely skewed view.

The funny thing? I've seen far more people interested in the game than those who end up saying they want to boycott and stuff like that.

C cups are "huge." Maybe you live in a part of the world were all the women are flat, but I do not.

And Shimbori has outright stated they reduced the bust sizes intentionally to make them "more human." Your point about costumes magically changing things ala Juri's Lilith costume in SFV is mere speculation, nothing more.

Bra size are all a cup smaller in Japan compared to the average European sizes or the USA sizes.
So in Japan a B is an A, a C is a B, et cetera.
Knowing this it wouldn't surprise me if Shimbori said something that ridiculous, but at the same time this article is a translated interview by a person who doesn't like DOA and might have exaggerated claims for sensationalism. I am taking the source with a grain of salt, simply put.

I feel like a lot of this criticism of DOA6 wouldn't have happened if they did not shit up the marketing yet again, because if you ask me DOA6 does look like vanilla DOA5. Helena flashes her panties every 5 seconds with every move and Kasumi has a tight ass fetische suit (regardless if u think it's ugly it still has clear traits of fetishism like heels). In fact I always thought things were going to stay the same as 5LR before reading the interviews.

Aparently big boobs make you less human.
God this game is becoming a mess.

The only thing that is a mess is the interviews like first IGN article & gamespot.

Going to save this quote and credit you, and it's going to be my default response every time someone necros this subject.

If you plan on using other quotes and make it you default response. Can you give them this? "Of course we’re going to tone down at this point, but for downloadable content, we have to see what gamers really want, what their response is. Not all the gamers want the same thing, but we want to ask their opinions, all of them, and get feedback on it."

Source: https://www.gameinformer.com/e3-201...-on-de-emphasizing-the-sexiness-of-the-series

You are aware that developers often claim stuff that they think the media or public wants to hear, but which isn't entirely true? E3 is a Western event, sexualizing of female characters has become a very controversial topic here, and especially DOA has a bad reputation in that regard. Had they not spinned the announcement into this much more proper, more mature and eSport-friendly revolution of the series, IGN and other gaming outlets would have torn DOA6 apart. They were however directly relying on IGN (which handled the reveal) and other gaming media outlets to make positive promo for the DOA6 announcement.
It's also not the first time they claimed to dial back sexualization either. Does DOA5 ring a bell?

They shouldn't make claims on what media or public wants especially if your taking the DOA5 approach once they repeat history like including sexual costumes, the media will bash them again. What they need to do is ignore the gaming media, and only cater to what people want out of DOA like sex appeal. If you make content the media doesn't like, these groups have 0 power other than writing hit pieces. The only thing the media would want to do is becoming gate keepers and policing content they find offensive. Holding back only shows the developers doesn't have a spine.

At least we won't have to hear about that silly petition anymore.... The only petition I would sign concerning DOA6 would be one like this I made up xD

https://www.change.org/p/freestepdo...iners-complainers-from-complaining-about-doa6

Also is he really gone for good? I saw him post on Rikuto's page and he said in one of the statuses that he's a "victim" or something. I tried to warn him >.>

Wow...

"DOA6 is only 8% finished and these blind whiners and complainers are saying DOA6 is "censored", the girls will have smaller boobs, the fanservice is being taken out, and the game is promoting "abuse" even though the guys and girls have been getting jacked up since DOA1."

While it is annoying to hear all the complaining about stuff that isn't fully complete along with certain things that was already cleared up at E3 & gameinformer. The only way they'll be properly happy is if they reveal certain characters that have skimpy designs like Ivy & Talim maybe, or maybe give them a proper platform so they can input their feedback on what they want for DLC which in return pay for the content.

"These complainers aren't real fans and are just mad they can't stroke their joysticks anymore since the game is maturing."

I think the whole "these complainers aren't real fans" needs a proper testing like showing off their collection, how they got into the series, and ask them what is DOA. What if these people like DOA for the sex appeal which is why their not happy with it being toned down from DOA5 DLC. The "game is maturing" is such a stupid term, it is nothing more than a dumb word to make sure you can feel comfortable with the game and not feel ashamed of its content which clearly isn't made for you.

"Please sign this petition so that we can silence these people once and for all since they don't have a clue what they're talking about and they're doing nothing more than just being caricatures of what people think DOA fans are as a majority! Hell no! Let's silence them once and for all!"

If you want these people to be silence once and for all there are far better ways than your disgusting attempt at violating free speech. If I were to be signing petition as a fellow DOA fan, I would sign up Helena Douglas DOATEC than signing something that is pure pointless, and have better ways than removing speech your petition.

I could solve your problem at getting them to stop complaining by going to EVO & finding Shimbori which I plan on doing, because I want to ask him about where people can input their feedback on what they want in DOA (considering what was said in gameinformer). If you don't want to hear anymore complaints you should ignore them and maybe take a break from social media. If your concern on what people will think "DOA fans as the majority", you'd be doing yourself a better favor and give up on DOA. Let DOA be the creation of what Itagaki & New Team (DOA5, DOAX3, & DOAXVV) created themselves, and ask for a new IP series.

In addition, DOA6 appears to be more or less the same as it were in the previous games. The only real thing that might be toned down are the nature of the DLC costumes.

The DLC isn't likely to be toned down due to what was said in the gameinformer interview which I posted in responding to NewWestFan, but DOA6 seems to be following what DOA5 Launch use to did.

Honestly, if MK did tone down the violence and gore (just like how MKvsDC did) then most people would actually be upset, and say how "it loses its staple to the series".More people recognize MK for it's excessive fatalities. It's famous and well known for making the ERSB system too. It really is more so the selling point for the series.Take it away then from most peoples eyes it'll be just another generic fighting game. Sure you will have those who "play it for the gameplay", but I doubt it would be enough to make the game a huge hit compared to what it is now.

Wow... [snip]

Dude…

it's clearly just a troll petition… you are taking this way too seriously…

Had they not spun the announcement into this much more proper, more mature and eSport-friendly revolution of the series, IGN and other gaming outlets would have torn DOA6 apart.

To be honest though… I think the damage from the current situation is worse than the potential damage from “DoA6 hands-on: In 2018 DoA stays true to its roots and is as creepy as ever” type of articles.

Anyway, if the sentiment doesn't change till TGS someone in PR/marketing should put in some over time, or they can immediately start the development of the next NG and give DoA a lengthy timeout. The desexualization issue isn't the main problem imo, the sentiment that TN is “anti-fan” and “anti-consumer” however is (though those are obviously connected…)

edit:
I only skimmed over the last couple of pages but some of the insults directed at @Helena Douglas DOATEC were really petty. If you have nothing but a childish insult… don't say anything at all. Just makes you and by proxy everyone else look bad.

This thread the car crash that never ends lol, Shiki and the helena person are clearly trolls here to cause trouble but at the very least the Helena one wasn't rude so the expletives towards him at times are unwarranted. Honestly though this thread is SO far gone at this point going over this pointless argument of them toning down the fanservice ( mainly because you can literally just use your eyes and see that its still there ) so I feel like it's time for this thread to be closed.

I feel like our community has a very "Intense" Reflex torwards people who come here with drastically different oppinions from ours...

Of course I expect the same treatment if I went in to SRK and started bitching about complex inputs no longer being necessary....

It's mostly the users who get entangled in drama who do, really.
Who speaks the loudest will always look like they speak for everyone.
We both have fanservice lovers and fans of more conservative stuff here, and we do have competitive players who don't like the direction the aesthetic seems to be going, such as Mestizo (I won't tag him cuz I'd bother him), who did not really cause fuss or ten pages of DOA and marxism.

Also I personally don't like to beat a dead horse that much. When a thread happens twice and we write the same things as before, sadly some ppl are going to be more pissed off than before, especially when NO TRUE SCOTSMAN bs gets thrown around.

I've been trying to be more laid back and eaeasy going lately... and you know what.... its Soooooooo exhausting !!!

Hopefully DoA 6 comes out in a very satisfactory state for different types of people...

Hey it could be worse.... imagine if they announced DoA6 would have Diablo Style Progression Systems with loot and Lootboxes...

Before leaving, there is something I must manifest.

I am a Public Accountant, I have a Master's Degree in Law and I am currently a Doctorate of Law student. I am Mexican and very proud. It is really sad that all of you are from First World countries, countries that my Mexico always admires for the fact that they are better than us, but I have realized that I have underestimated my own land, my Mexico. Because even though I come from a poor, third world country, I realize that people in Mexico are more open-minded. And I am 100% sure that in my beautiful Mexico, I will receive much more support.

Trump has called us rapists, murderers, thieves and others, and with those horrible insults, I stand up with pride and tell the whole world: I am Mexican.

I have a project beyond the request, and I know I will fulfill it, because I know that God will support me. Studying a PhD is not easy, but I'm proud of who I am. I leave with an unpleasant taste, but I leave more with a disappointment, because in Mexico people are more kind, supportive, humble and humane

Goodbye.

¡Viva Mexico!
