Honoka's boobs do bounce a lot less in her schoolgirl outfit, don't they?
I wonder if they will dial back the other costume a bit as well XD

I think the loading times on PS4 are quite a bit better than they were at gamescom… at the very least the game no longer has issues streaming assets during stage transitions, which was an issue back then. We'll see if later public builds improve things further…

I also want to see the base XBox One version… will be interesting to see how much is left of the game… in terms of visuals.

Some good news regarding the big navel drama:
DrDogg over on Resetera shared that he interviewed Shimbori at the event and he directly asked him about the lack of navels. They even went to Rig and Zack in the game to check. Apparently Shimbori had no idea navels were missing on all male characters and he promised to look into it when he returns to the Japan studio. :)

Oh so they really just didn't notice I guess, Well that's cool that DrDogg interviewed him then and brought it to his attention, So I imagine they'll get added now then.

Let's just hope their midsections are large enough to warrant a navel. Just the males? Let's say EVERY character practically. One of the reasons I despise Mortal Kombat (other than the graphics as a whole) is the disgusting look of Sonia Blade. God I sound horrible sometimes, I know I hate Tekken I hate Mortal Kombat... but hear me out.

Sonia is not an example of what a healthy woman looks like. She looks like she's on crack and has never eaten anything her entire life. Like what's wrong with society? Is that what you look for in a woman? An hourglass IN the literal sense where it looks like the middle can't hold the top part up and keep it all together?

EW I just can't look at her. Rachel. Rachel. Bring back Rachel.. or bring in Rainbow Mika or something.

I'm confident the weird character models, not just the women, in NetherRealm games are a thing of the past. They've completely changed the character art style in Injustice 2 to a much more aesthetic and realistic approach.

Still the best looking models in any fighting game imo and I am sure Mortal Kombat 11 wil look equally great if not better.

Well for a start it does sound like something is going to be done about the missing navels so that's good, So maybe later on before release we'll suddenly see navels on the male characters?

Off topic but honestly as a Mortal Kombat fan I'm sure It will look gorgeous graphics wise but that's not what I'm concerned with. What I'll be watching out for is that the outfits and stages etc are actually good because in terms of recent MK games, MK9 had great stages and amazing outfits that just felt so good...and then MK10's stages just felt...Idk..not as good to me, And the outfits ( specifically the female characters outfits ) were just...no girl, Whoever did the female characters outfits in MK10 honestly fire them. semi rant over.

I'm struggling with this level of emphasis with male characters punching female characters. it sort of takes the violence out of the context of the balanced fight and frames the moment on it's own. probably sexist or something these days, but sue me. In MK its so over the top it hardly seems to matter... but this seems a little perverse at times.

There's no point to your claims, because the violence is equally balanced. Not all females characters produce a punch-in-the-face close-up, and males neither.

Those who does:

- Jann Lee, Zack, Helena (FEMALE), Diego, Rig, Bayman, Bass and Mila (FEMALE).

Those who doesn't:

- Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi, Hitomi, Leifang, Ayane, Honoka, Marie Rose.

Don't know yet:

- Tina.

The Fatal Blow consequences are more a thing of fighting style than ryona fantasies. I like ryona in fiction, thought. More realistic in a fighting than losing clothes. But not in the Mortal Kombat way, yucks!

Like I've said before, that argument is stupid and double sided. If they would have not let the females get punched in the face; now that would be sexist. Dumb ass comments like these are the kind that make me question the sanity of the world.

Before you know it... girls won't even be included. Because god forbid they get punched in the fucking face in a mother fucking fighting game.

Anyway... read the interview. No Sonia, that's fine... Brad is pretty much confirmed.

I said I don't like it, it doesn't give me the good feels, IMO its arbitrary/superfluous and I'd rather not have it in the game personally. But I believe in freedom of expression and choice - TN, yours, my own. But if you're the kind of closed minded snowflake that thinks everyone should be force fed your tastes it'd be great if you could stop and appreciate the importance of liberty to your own interests.

When I start saying it shouldn't be allowed, come at me, and i'll join in :p

Oh and 'double sided'? I posted an opinion, not an argument - or sticky tape. :D
(it's 'double standard' I think you were reaching for)

chill out

Thank you for providing something of substance rather than bluster and emotion. But I'm really not talking about balance (but naturally I'm glad there is some) because I'm not balanced. FG are my favourite genre of games by a mile, I enjoy the direct conflict and exchange... but I don't personally revel in the (realistic) detail of the violence itself. I want to orchestrate and land a punch... not revel in the imaginary damage it's doing. I appreciate some people enjoy those more visceral stakes, but the pause offers me nothing in the game, and that disconnect really just leaves it at nothing more than face value to me - its just an irrelevant picture, one I don't personally care for (more or less based on my subjective standpoint).

Conversly, I really like the damage to the characters and clothes though... which is sort similar. I think that's different to me because it's representing the stakes of the battle rather than fetishising physical trauma.

hey ho - opinions eh?

It's very interesting that some of these events are limited by character, I was under the assumption it was universal - I was wrong, thanks for the info :)

You were "struggling with this level of emphasis with male characters punching female characters" which was just plain wrong and you can turn off the feature. Its not a big deal. Don't like the OMG jiggle? Turn it off. Don't like the blood? Turn it off. Pretty simple.

Shame is followed by the worst animations and mechanics in fighting games ever.

Anyhow, i like the game having battle damage. This is a game about ninjas and crazy scientists after all.
But for those who don't like it, you can turn off, so it is problem solved.

jesus - why are people so sensitive around here? its a goddam 'forum', a word with an actual definition.
I don't like the close ups, whether you can turn them off or not, if me holding/sharing that opinion offends anyone so much they have to start wigging out - i'd say they got bigger problems.

The collector’s edition of DEAD OR ALIVE 6 for the Japanese market includes a 3D mousepad representing a brand new female character. Yet, she is still a mystery.
During an interview at Team NINJA’s headquarters in Ichigaya, Tokyo, DualShockers tried to extract some information about her from Director and Producer Yohei Shimbori, and we did learn a few things.
Apparently, her voice actress is very famous in Japan, and she fights with a martial arts style that has never been portrayed by the DEAD OR ALIVE series before. According to Shimbori-san, it also did not appear in other major fighting game series.
Since the characters of the DEAD OR ALIVE series can range from very serious to rather funny, we asked Shimbori-san where within that spectrum the new heroine will be positioned.
“She is a little bit of both… Maybe a little bit towards the serious side, but she’s kind of in the middle.”
At the moment, we don’t know when the new character will be revealed, but Koei Tecmo recently showcased the return of Bass, Tina, and Mila, and more returning fighters have already been teased.
In the meanwhile, you can look forward to lots of details coming in the interview, which will be published in three parts over the next three week

new martial art?

@ the gameplay, marie's voice is annoying as fuck how I have never noticed this
It was a relic from 5 when she had three personalities because they didn't yet know what to do with her. Notice how terribly it clashes with the more composed intro/outro in this game?
Too bad TN isn't a studio that does rerecords lmao

On the subject of violence, I like ryona and I eat fatality/guro clips for breakfast, but the tacky bruises can fuck right off since it's too limp dick to even be considered violence and DOA has had a clean, crisp aesthetic for the longest time. Ripped clothing should also go back to third rate fanservice anime trash where they belong.

How about violence in the form of KO animations where the loser stops wiggling for once? Better interactions with hits? Oh wait, it's easier to pay their outsourced slaves to churn out some red tinted dirt textures, play with the camera and slap 20 filters on an annoying cymbal crash sound instead of doing new mocaps.
