No, he says he got it from "the website" but no website has it up. He also uploaded it 3 days ago.

We've been doing this already, guessing and assuming what things are, pretty accurately. I would like to hear TN commentating on thier own work. I guess this is nice for the thought of doing it and putting in almost an hour into it. Still, this is the old build of the game that's like DOA4, and I know how DOA 4 works just fine.

Also, I will add that side-step where Hayate got counter blown off is an actual move and not really a side-step. So, Hayate probably did that punch and got smacked for doing so in the start up of it. The move itself can side-step but it's not that good, at least in DOA 4 it's not.

Well it was a hi-counter blow so i presume he was doing a throw off of it.

Nahh, off that move he was doing, he can only punch from it, a mid. Now if more moves were added to that animation then I am wrong. That move looked like he was trying to do his 8 or 2 :P+K:.

He could only punch from it in DOA4, he may have been given a throw from it in DOA5.

Oh, and if you want to see the trailer in full motion go to the 50:00 mark.

I'm watching it right now! I wish I knew where he found it. I actually want to see the video nonstop, the constant pausing and rewinding is a bit tedious. Good shit though.

Yea it was a good amount of pausing but it was for good reason and I didn't have a problem with it seeing as how you can go straight to the 50:00 mark and watch the video clean. But for those who want a nice dissecting should tune in. Hell, at this point I'll take in all the DOA5 I can get.

That's one of the reasons why I highly doubt they are going to make that change in the gameplay now. Those powerblows are probably very strong, and even if the damage was toned down (assuming that it is high) the situations they put you are in pretty good and to get it all the time once someone is stunned is crazy. It's too much to change, even though I'd like them to be removed.

Look at the damage they actually do in these new gameplay vids. It's kind of pathetic, actually. And it still takes time to charge, could easily slow escape to get out of them.

I see no problems here, especially since it seems like most characters could launch for more damage with a standard juggle anyway. Also, did anyone see how LITTLE damage that hitomi cliffhanger did? Talk about miniscule...

I am thinking of the deeper stuns, where you can't really slow escape completely out of. I haven't really payed attention to the damage power blows are dishing out, I will go look at that. They do take time to charge but can the power blows, like charge attacks, be released at any time varying in damage?

who knows?

Based on what ive seen though, the speed seems consistent. The damage is pretty meh.

The only way you can make the damage from a powerblow relevant is when you do something like get a full stun threshold, activate the powerblow and point it at something REALLY painful in the environment and get as much damage as possible off of that as well.

The powerblow by itself though? eh. doesn't seem spectacular. Long as you're keeping the dangerous stuff in front of you and not behind you, I don't see an issue with them. Doesn't seem like it'd hurt as much as a juggle, it just sends you farther.

That was my take.

First off, I'm not going to sit there for close to an hour listening to Manny break down a trailer. Secondly, why would you put so much time and effort into a trailer of the ALPHA build? Just seems like a complete waste of time to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does the same thing with the demo.

Looks like stun is a little more difficult to get. I saw Ayane hit Hayate while his back was turned and no stun whatsoever.

Although I concur, at the same time I can understand his desire to want to talk about what is there, in the case it still exists in the current version of the game. Why? Because Team NINJA is looking to hear the feedback of it, and not giving any feedback is worse than giving negative feedback.

Giving feedback of things you want changed, that may have already been changed, could give Team NINJA confidence that they're going in the right direction.

We also do not know what has or has not been changed. So even though many of us are aware that it is an older build, we still want to look at it and give feedback where we can.

But Team Ninja has made it clear that they do not want the Alpha build to be broken down the way it has been. It's one thing to do what we're doing here, which is making casual observations about what's being shown... but Manny spent how much time breaking down that video?

If he's going to break down a video, why not break down the Akira trailer? We know that's much farther along than the Alpha build trailers.

As I said, I concur. There's a reason I didn't do a breakdown of this, even though I personally think the Hitomi vs Ayane vid is the best vid so far in terms of skill level shown.

They've said that they want feedback, while also showing signs that they really don't. Mixed signals? FROM JAPAN!? You don't say....

Probably because no one here really plays or knows Akira. I myself play Lau, so I just keep an eye on things that I shouldn't get hit with like elbows and 214P and stuff that gives him frame advantage like knee and his stagger move that brakes guards. 33P is a pretty good launcher. His 6P4 is like a Bryan taunt where you just have to let him finish what he was doing. And that's pretty much it. I don't know much else and I doubt anyone else here knows more about him except Berzerk and you (you play VF, right?).

No one in my area plays Akira or VF for that matter.
