I should really stop playing this demo. I've accumulated way too much karma...

Finally nailed down master ninja mode and am almost up to unlocking Misty. I am shocked how well this game has progressed. Hopefully the next one has Hayashi coming correct.

I am miffed Momiji didn't get in this demo. because I'd have abused her double jump to stack the damage bonus.

I really like the damage multiplier buffs. Sometimes I delimb a bunch of guys just to chain OT them to stack that buff to charge it for the alchemists to take one of those fuckers out.

Since Momiji is the only one not in the demo she'll take a bit longer to be fun in Chapter Challenge and other modes. Luckily she's not in the main story so we don't have to deal with an artificial difficulty increase in comparison to the other characters.

Artificial difficulty increase? I'm not following.

We have skills and karma loaded up for the other characters on multiple difficulties. If she were in the story we'd be starting from zero for her chapters whereas the other characters we'd be going in stacked. That's what I meant. The game isn't any more difficult but the lack of unlocks might make it seem so.

Haven't used her since Sigma 2 myself since I haven't put anywhere near enough time into Sigma 2+. I'm looking forward to getting my naginata on again.

I've always had an "underdog" fascination with Momiji. Really wish they'd put her in DOA (then I might actually consider tag mode, what with two Hayabusas and all). I do think it would be cool if they let her use a katana in the NG console games, though. I like the Naginata, but I feel like she could be a lot faster/more versatile/more kickass with a shorter weapon.

She should, considering she did use a katana in Dragon Sword.

But all she did was fight like Ryu didn't she? that kinda defeats the purpose of even having alternate characters
Except you would have a new appearance, hopefully some cool change-ups in the moveset, and other character-specific traits like the double-jump.

So, like, how do you Ninja Gaiden? The Razor's Edge demo was the first time I've ever played a Ninja Gaiden game and I can't get anything done for the life of me. A simple crowd of regular enemies decimates me and I have no idea what to do? I want to unlock Kasumi ;___;

I'm not a great NG player so it's better that you wait for the answers of more expert players, but I can say that surely the first basic rule to keep in mind is "the defence". You can't go too much forward if you don't think first of all to keep your guard on and dodge the adversaries to take distance by them or simply to look for a better position. Overall at high difficulties, you can't hope to win just attacking when you want, you have to look for the right moment and the right timing.

In general, defend, dodge and attack can be the most simple but effective strategy to use at basic levels of the game.

For the rest I suggest you to see some playtrough of the game on You Tube, you will learn various tricks and strategies to use, and this will improve surely your knowledge of the way to play in really short time (off course the practice is antoher matter).

sad to say if this your first NG you probably aren't going to unlock Kasumi in the demo,but i think in the main game shes already there.

i will tell you the block button is your best friend i mean hide-the-body-when-you-kill-someone best friend and as Cyber has mentioned NEVER stand still that's just asking to be grabbed and slide constantly and guard constantly

when you get your arm glowing my best advice would be to only use it on A) the last couple enemies or C) in an emergency,as it ends your bonus thing and it becomes very difficult to afford the upgrades that will help you.
