  • After hours of online play, lag free play in the lab feels like heaven. xD
Not using one's main is akin to hiding one's power level, right?

And using Ayane online is a pain in the ass.

I'm going through her combos as we speak. xD

Or you can just try your personal best with your main and not care what others think of your "power level". In the end, some will value your tenacity, and others won't. Weed the latter out and keep the ones that fall under the former.
Learned the importance of mental rehearsal and making the correct reads on the fly. Need to adjust faster to the opponent, though.
I know I need to practice setups, but man, playing live online matches and learning on the fly is such a rush. So much more fun.
Yay, I got called a "fucking tryhard!" What do I win?
I can see why Rage Arts would piss off an old school Tekken player, but goddamnit, I love 'em (when used correctly, of course). xD

Rage is stupid, Rage arts are stupid, slo mo is stupid, armor moves are stupid, all this fluff put in to appeal to the lowest common denominator is stupid

The mechanics a certainly far cry from the classics (T1, especially, IMO), but they don't detract from the gameplay, at least for me. Still as fun as when I played T1 back in grade school (T4 I remember fondly as well).

@Camel with 2 thumbs Stop being so dusty XD I agree but you cant expect fighting games to not evolve with the times. You sound like a Smash player who thinks the series should have ended at Melee and that's the pinnacle of what Smash is capable of and there should be no fun to be had unless you're ultra competitive at it.
When playing online, anyone else freeze up and start getting repetitive with the combos? Like you suddenly forgot all of your moves? FFUU-

    It might be just nerves.
    2T during Kasumi's 236P, yay or nay?

look at the Input Log at your last attempt...

You did T2 not to 2T... thats how you got hit... atleast I think thats what happened... I forgot how to actually read the input log.

As for how you threw Kasumi the first time... I'm assuming since its a recording... she was crouching because of the 2 3 Motion in 236P... I fell into a similar trap when I thought Tina's (3)P Was a High Crush.

Neutral, a little more riskier than doing a standing throw but still works
Advantage in DOA or any fighting game, is like possession in futbol, basketball or hockey. Thoughts?

"the harder it will be to keep possession", sure, time and space are harder to come by and shrink by the second. During the stun game, you're literally working with frames (that would be the equivalent of being deep in the attacking zone). Btw, I gotta quit the hold habit.

Or better yet... try instant Holds... then Mash out your Fastest launcher and see if you can catch the opponent off guard.

I know I've got a lot to work on defensively...

If DOA is easy to pick up, what are the harder fighting games? Tekken? VF? SF? KOF?...Smash? :p

I mean, there are countless people out there you can best in Street Fighter, myself included, because you put in way more thought than the next player. To be fair, I haven't played since childhood, so I have a lot of ground to cover. Now, you better hope I don't catch you within the year. :p

LoL... I should hope so... I don't want to be in another situation where I practice for weeks and get beaten by my friends who just button mash.

LoL... I got rekt so hard in KoF after practicing so long that I can't sleep some nights... Haunted by flashbacks of getting my ass beat.

Thats why I'm only practicing one thing in SFV.

You have nothing to worry about, I'm impatient. Rather than practicing setups and tech, like I should be, it's more fun to derp around against the computer and passively pick up whatever combos work. Hahaha. You and I both are susceptible to getting beat by mashers. If I'm to stand a chance, I'll have to correct that habit. :)

How many hours of practice do you think it takes to master a character's moveset?
    Lulu
    Lulu
I wouldn't know.... theres not a single character In my team that has all their moves Utilized....

I usually just practice the common stuff.

i think it all just depends on how much time you have to play all depends on your situation
Hated fighting Alpha-152 at first, now it's kinda fun. :)

    @Lulu
I use it when I want to close the space in between myself and my opponent, but want to retain the control of a normal dash/quick advance, with the speed of running (more or less, anyway) without halting momentum.

@Force_of_Nature Her moves are insanely unsafe, and her jelly body, for whatever reason, makes the recovery cycles pop out. I just waited on my friends to throw one of her strings, I would block, stun and launch. Other times I would I would use (Honoka's) 6T and begin that loop. xD

Oh, and to boot, we were playing in Danger Zone. Made it interesting.
Optimal training settings for practicing critical burst sequences? I have my suspicions, but what do you think?

I wanted to get used to working around holds as well.

Hitomi and Pai Chan are the only two characters I know of with Guaranteed CB's from start to finish with out help from the environment.

All characters are capable of the types of stuns that lead to guarantees, right? It would be funny if only certain characters could perform a lift stun, for example.

    R.I.P. in peace DS4.
    Lulu
    Lulu
Thats the one I'm using now (The Madcatz one)...

For DoA its unnecessary.... infact the DS4's D-Pad may actually be better I hear (never used one myself)...

Its great for 2D Fighting Games that have no lasting appeal beyond their execution...

That being said... it is rather large... because they decided to keep both the Touch Pad and Analogue Stick.
