I was looking forward to getting it once I built a new PC, but now I'm hesitant. Is it really that bad? Which features are missing that made the PS4 version (for example) so good?
Online Lobbies (ie: the part of the game that 99% of players spend 99% of their time with) are completely absent. The only online mode is Ranked, and as you can probably guess, it's basically dead (you can queue for hours and find no opponents). So unless you enjoy fighting the garbage CPU or are for some reason obsessed with the lackluster modding scene, the game is completely useless.
And of course, the game had no online whatsoever on launch. KT, however, promised that it would be added a month or two after release. So people bought it, completely unsuspecting, and after months of delays, they still only added half of the game's online functionality. And it was the shitty half that no one likes or plays.
But KT already had their money, and decided it wasn't worth the effort to fix a broken game they tricked their fans into buying.
Frankly, EA's handling of Battlefront is amazing compared to KT's handling of DOA5 on PC. It's easily one of the most appalling cases of a big-budget publisher just not giving a fuck about their customers.
@Brute wierd... the online usually so crowded (unless I post some sh*t things, then they will keep rejecting you)
Btw have you tried changing your download region?
Lobbies suck though. If you have friendos on steam you just line up when you wanna play and have fun. It isn't ideal but work arounds were made and with the ease of steam chat and discord it makes things just fine.
The lack of ps4 input delay makes a great deal of difference online too. It feels pretty seamless for me to switch between online and offline while I still hear console players complain about online vs offline.
But to vs. your friend you might want to change the region to more silent area.... @CookingMama this must be becoz of something xinput thing which ps4 didnt use... or maybe you can try fix this via D3D9 antilag....
Staring at text for hours while it tries to find an opponent that doesn't exist hardly qualifies it to be "playable," especially when you consider that if you do find an opponent, it's a complete toss up what their connection is like and how they play (either of which can make the experience wholly unenjoyable).
I know that the competitive cock is engorged at the sound of "better netcode" but a good netcode in a half-finished game is like getting a handjob while someone rams a hot branding iron up your ass (in other words, it's hard to enjoy).
No, I haven't tried changing my DL region. I can't imagine it's worth going through such measures when I can just hop on my PS4 instead.
