Tis true.It was legal in them old'n days.
One my friends took SCV back because he said it got way too casual and he did NOT like that guard impact got put on meter at all... lol this is coming from someone who holds Soul Calibur as his main fighter and is pretty badass with Xianghua. Also he doesn't like Critical Edge and prefers Critical Finish. So, it doesn't surprise me when people don't like 5 compared to 4.That shows his priorities.

SCV got too casual because it made players not want to burn meter by throwing out random Guard Impacts, okay... Sounds like it got less casual but that's me. That also sounds like what we would like to happen to DOA, not necessarily implement a meter, but make it so you can't just mash counters. If we have to toss some scrubs aside to get a better game then I'm all for it.One my friends took SCV back because he said it got way too casual and he did NOT like that guard impact got put on meter at all...
Well, I don't know all the details, but that's what he said :/So it got way too casual for him, but he complained about all of the hardcore aspects and sold the game as a result?
You need to smack your friend upside the head.
yeah idk... w/e it's his problem not mine lol.Combo fest? What the f.....
All of the things he loved there, you can still do. If a person is about to be guard broken you can pressure them with fear into any number of traps. Sigh... people will say anything so they don't have to confront their own deficiencies. I am all but certain of this now. He was literally complaining that he didn't have an easy win option, by saying that the game was too easy.
I know, It's just that this was suppose to be "the year" SC5 failed in gameplay but delivered in creation and now DOA is going to rock in gameplay (I luv the demo) But not even as little as color customization, I have too look like every one elseeeee...
I think SCV is a step back in terms of mechanics compared to the games before it. The gauge system is fine, but I don't like the change from GI to just guard at all. Also in every soul calibur game they tend to nerf low attacks, so in this one they can't be used well for mixups at all since even if you hit you are forced to block, more so now that GI costs meter to perform. You play fighting games for all the wrong reasons...SCV mechanics are fine, its a solid fighter.
Now go play with barbie dolls or something as clearly that would suite you better.
