Why Do You Main Christie?

I wish there were more character-specific versions of this thread. But anyway guys, I'm gonna repost this from another thread:

"Throw in costumes, cool factor, looks, some story stuff, etc. and you have a mess to choose from, right? Well, it took some years, even after playing online A LOT, and I narrowed it down. I took Christie offline, but I found her offense and mixups were great, but her damage (especially throw damage) was just bad. In remember ppl telling me that I could have won more matches if my throw damage was better. So I picked my favorite wrestler, Tina, and I found her fun in a more all-around-but-great-throw-damage kind of way. I even remember my tag team being named ChrisTina. Man, those were good times, before everybody got tired of the game and essentially shelving DoA4."

In terms of DOA5, she just seems to feel...different. I wasn't a huge fan of the serpent stance, but it did give her reach, something she sorely needed. The sidestep stance just ain't doin it for me, and her guard breaks are all mid punches so I get mid-punch countered a LOT. Her throws are very slightly stronger than Rig's (with a good stance), but her juggle damage is still weak. I love the threat of her speed, but she feels like she's missing something, or a couple of somethings. I used to feel pumped up when I got her in random, and now she feels weird. Would anybody know why? I know I'm probably misunderstanding her, but she feels like she ain't speakin my language no more.

Damn I didn't even think you played anymore (I'm NinjaCW) lol. Christie is so much different than how you would remember her in 4. Gotta get used to going nuts when you stun people with her now

Wassup guys. Just been on exile 4 a minute. Good 2 see y'all around.

Fun moveset, like the character's style and personality and in a lot of cases cases platinum haired British characters with mean streaks and their natural voice are appealing to me. Although learning how to play her effectively is hard to me. Getting back into the game and tackling her is a lot different than it is to tackle Tina who I play as much as Christie and have as much fun with. How would you guys rank Christie's learning curve anyway? I wish I had her frame data.

Sounds similar to my situation. How have you been faring with 5U Christie?

We all know about her appeal and her offensive style. I want to look for solid stuff with her tho. I wish she had a throw off of Jak stance, and more non-charge frame advantage. I feel like she wants to live off of string delays and stuns (and the Jak stance is supposed to help with her counter-poke style), but I don't think she gets much damage off of launching quickly. So is she supposed to be a critical burst character like Pai?

I know this might seem like an out-of-place question in this thread, but is there anyone who uses Christie based purely on something she has in DOA5 or 5U? I thought she was too different in 5, but her 4T into F+K,K (-6 on block and launches anyone who tries to fight back, cannot slow escape or counter out of it in DOA5U) is awesome pressure. I need to find more awesome solid pressure, because she is not safe and her free cancels are like -10 and up.
