I did a lot of things for fun back then but mostly I came after the people who were living foul. I did it in an over the top way sometimes but I remember being on the CGS forums and getting a pat on the back behind the scenes by you for a non "Julius Rage" impassioned rant and I did everything I did without being drunk or claiming to be drunk.
You never went out of your way to point out that 4 of those spots were guaranteed - and whats even more funny is that if were talking about who got on that season (Mamba, Master, Jared, Swoozie, Dave and Offbeat), two of your buddies had the shit handed to them on a silver platter (Mamba and Offbeat) and lets not forget everyones favorite human being Swoozie.
You fell in line for two years, when you realized you weren't going to make it then you got angry.
This makes you all assholes - all the venom and vitriol thats floating around now might not have been if you had taken the time to respond to what the guy was saying. I'm sure he made some great points but we'll never really know because you guys stuck your fingers in your ears and screamed "We hate master" until he threw his hands up in the air.

Well, you do have to consider that when talking about a "TV show/broadcast/etc.", there will almost always be some biases in place to get a "fair" (determined by producers) amount of women on ... usually for the sole purpose of a cheap ratings boost. The exception, of course, is with various televised sports, due to already being firmly established and widely followed by the mainstream audience.

I am not going to read 70 paragraphs of anything, just like you didn't and you are still defending or taking a stand against what you think is wrong. If that was in the form of a video like the blow that was thrown at him, then maybe some things could be cleared up for some people. However, that route was not taken and it's like he never said anything at all, I've told him that. I have spoken to him on the entire "history of doa" (his side at least) and some things were cleared up for me. Still in the end I chose to leave and get out of the cesspool-like environment, shit just didn't sit right. Again, I hold no ill feelings toward Manny, at all but, I will not ignore legitimate complaints.
I never co-signed anything anyone has said against him. Just what I personally experienced and that was after winning one of his tournaments, there is no official sign of it happening and I know for a fact that it was officially recorded because they were trying to get it streamed. Oh, there's the vid of me beating him in the tournament that was posted, who recorded that I have no clue. The point is, what most are claiming as far as things "get lost" I understand now.
Also, I realized that the general public really do believe that MASTER is the best DOA player and sWooZie as well. I won that tournament and the only credit I got for it were the select few in the community that are active. Anyone else didn't know who won it, thought that sWooZie won it, or MASTER won it again. This is all in the abandon years of DOA4 and people still have that perception, so I know that this was still going on back then when the game was in full effect.
What I don't get is how PL was never beaten by him in a tournament setting but, MASTER is still considered the best in DOA? Regardless of his fucking attitude, he did his thing constantly and consistently (not to say others didn't). This type of shit can not happen with DOA5. Michael Jordan is an asshole but, he is seen and known publicly as one of if not the greatest player to ever have touched Spalding.
No, that wasn't MASTER's fault, that was mother nature doing her thing. Though I do remember MASTER liking PL's status on facebook when he said he was snowed in and couldn't make the trip. I can't remember his exact words but it was something like that.
This is lame. But TV will be TV, I guess.

Agree - and I'm saying outside a female division, she was considered competitive. As in a generally competitive player with whom you actually have to play against with attention to beat. I dont wish to overstate: Not saying she was up there with the top 10 Doa males at the time but she was a real competitor and not just vs other females. Of course it's hard to say where she would actually stack up just as it would be hard to place a lot of the international players like TheTactical, Messy, Tetra, ElDivino, SkatanMilla, Kindfox and myself because he league format was so segregated. There never was a proper open bracket for everyone.
The closest was WCG but that was separated in single match group pools which is also a poor format but at least it's an open field.
Doa5 will be so much different because it's coming into an environment of many, many open entry double elim tournaments being the norm, so the specialized and filtered exposure of players will not occur

The general public? Which public are we talking about - the one who saw him come in second and 3rd on the CGS or the public at Shoryuken who listened to Tom Brady's rant and based their opinions of the guy on that and saw him come in second at evo06?
And again, this is your fault for not going out there and positioning yourself as the winner of the last big DOA4 tournament - you get out what you put in.
And all of you guys can talk about what you didn't like after the fact - fact is you never talked about it when you had something to gain. Master might be disingenuous but so is anyone who took a hand out from the CGS or went looking to take a hand out from the CGS.

The public that follows the games but do not necessarily play, the public that do play and don't know shit, the public that was given the image that MASTER is the best doa player, which is just about everyone that doesn't know any better. The people that know better seem to be extremely small. I tell you what, when DOA5 comes around and you just so happen to win a tournament that he is at, lets talk then. Trust, it will not matter how ignorant/belligerent you get to show that you are the man.
I did, the friends of mine that went with me did the same as well. Comments were ignored and drowned out by the public that has that image of MASTER and sWooZie, so what the fuck do I do with that (100 thousand +, to my 3). On a serious note, I just took a mental note of that because the game is really old. I just got a small taste of people have been through. I laugh at the shit really, still doesn't change the fact that it happened. Between me and you, I've never been the "fall in line" type of guy and it's a new day. #DOA5

It ain't the people who play competitively.
The people who think that are the ones who don't really care anyway and would be just as inclined to believe you are the best if you said it loud enough.

As he wasn't really a part of it and was 100% a troll (still is now prob lolz) he has no idea how things went. It's hard to understand the position the community was in as he wasn't really a part of it. Yea Brady ranted about what happened but that doesn't make it less true. He speaks as if we all just sat around crying while Manny just ran his hustle. It's quite the opposite but he has no idea because he was usually banned and he didn't travel like most of the other competitive players.
You also miss the ENTIRE point of what we're saying. Not one person is saying Manny is bad. We're saying he is proclaimed as THE best not ONE OF the best. He loses to two players 99% of the time in a really bad way, that doesn't mean you're the best. Not one other top player in any other game has been able to get away with that. Only in THIS community do you get people like JULIUS RAGE defending a guy who DOES NOT win tournaments but PLACES and is THE best. Do you see how dumb that is? He is the undisputed champ of the world without actually winning the title.
You can google all the information and make all of your judgements J.R. but at the end of the day it means jack shit cause you are spewing your opinion on the situation which you have very little understanding of. We were there and we dealt with it the best way we could considering we didn't want the game to die the way it did. We wanted the game to change and to become more of a main stream fighter or at least a game we could have more people play it in general OFFLINE.
Also for the last time. . .Mamba lived in like Mexico or some shit where he had no one there outside of maybe 5ish players (I could be wrong) while Manny had many more players to host a tournament for. Not to mention it was at an anime convention at least when I started going.
There were those that spoke out quite openly and like I said before ; no contacts mean you can't defend yourself against whatever they say about you (or don't say). Manny loves DoA and he wants it to stay the same which is all well and good however it's not working. No one likes DoA and wants to play it so it's just him and his peeps playing. So should we let his group control the fate of our game or should we stand up to fight against that. We are STANDING UP against it right now and trying to make a change so the game can become legit.
Maybe they are fine with the small ass community we have and 25 man majors but the competitive players around here want more than that. We want more than the same 10-15 players for all iterations of the game. So we can keep the game the way Manny and his clique likes it and the game stay in the same place dying out completely or we can make some changes and get a stronger and bigger community.
Think about that while you're sitting there defending Manny on the shit he has done.
