So really... Why is Zack low tier?

Because look at how unsafe he is from an 8 frame jab!

Someone was spamming sway to duck like crazy in practice mode. I have seen that before.:D Why would you do it a million times? When one is just fine?

I thought we left you in charge of that whilst everyone else sat around and ate cakes?
FINE! I'll get up but only to pick the control pad off the floor.
I found more changes from him to vanilla to 5U. I'm also working on the Zack combo guide. I'm doing a lot of things for him. It would be nice to get a little help with something else. I also wanna do mixup guide with him as well.
The best way to figure this out is to construct a match up chart for him.
You're right. I want to do one for him, but me, JR, hoodless, and other Zacks need to head to majors and test him vs. high level comp before making a mu chart for him. His MUs are A LOT better this time around.

What is overlooked is Zacks uncompareable mixup game. If Zack starts a solid offense one does not simply, "guess" what Zack is going to do. He has throws out of ever stance that either leave him at a decent advantage or do a nice chunk of damage. His defense is okay, not stellar, but not lackluster either. I've found myself picking up Zack and Pairing him up with Rig as a fall back character and in a lot of ways I feel Zack is just much more reliable due to these features.

That is a good way of thinking Hades. People try to say he's dan of DOA when he's not.
Oh hell no, the common misconception I see with Zack from what I see in 4 and a half years of being a part of this community is: If you haven't been around a lot of Zacks and you play a good one you think "Oh no character can be better, I'm constantly in a guessing game!".

What they don't realize is Zack is yes a good character, but he is not near god tier, he doesn't have a vortex, he doesn't have an infinite, he does have one of the better wall games in DOA, but he is no where near the best character. Zack isn't "easy" to deal with but he's much less difficult to deal with then some of the annoying, gimmicky, and in some cases just broken DOA shenaningans.

I will say this much though, being as Zack isn't a gimmicky character and really doesn't have an "tricks"(by that I mean you kinda just have to play the match as is, you don't have a bokuho duck, your down jab isn't OP, etc.) So I've always had a lot of respect for people who play Zack, Rig is kinda the same way in my opinion, so switching from Rig to Zack wasn't nearly as hard as I expected.

Am I making sense? Do I need to clarify anything? Let me know, I feel like I'm ranting.

Oh no you're right. I have been saying this, but it's always what he doesn't have and not about what he has. Zack is a very good character and can be very dangerous. But this community is small, so a lot of characters get thrown under the bus.

Zack "was" low tier. I'm pretty sure he's not anymore. I mean, he always had great options, but with better tracking, better safety, better mix-up, and in some cases, better damage, he's been pushed to a decent position match-up wise.
