ok heres something thats been confusing me ...
what the hell is an "Inashi" parry ?

it says in in the doa site that leifang uses "Sabaki" and "Inashi" parries. ... i know sabakis ... inashi is a term that I dont think I'm familiar with .. (or at least what it refers to if its not something new ) ...

any idea dogg?
Inashi = Standard Parry.

1) Do characters like Hitomi, Kokoro, Lei-Fang etc have offensive holds, or are those limited to the grapplers?

2) How does Lei-Fang's parry work? Does it parry highs and mids at the same time or is there a separate one for each height? Does she have an attack from parry like Hitomi? The parry also looked like it had a lot of recovery frames. Is this true, or does she simply have a lot of active parrying frames?

3) Kokoro seems to have more options than DOA4 after her :2::F+K:. Seems like she has some sort of stance from which she can do other things than just the low kick or mid punch follow-up. Can you shed some light on that?

5) How do the tracking moves work? In VF there are three types of moves. Linear, half circles and full circles. Linear moves can be sidestepped from both sides, half circles only from one side, and full ones can't be sidestepped. Is this the same in DOA5, or is it just linear vs full circle?

6) What happens if two people hit each other with a power blow at the exact same time? Even though the chances are slim, I'm wondering what would happen.

7) Do forced wake-ups & untechables play a big role like in DOA4?

8) Can you hit an opponent while they're doing a wake-up kick?

9) Are all power blows mid punch or does each character have a different attacking point?

Oooh, two very good questions I never thought of asking.

I bet they bounce each other. In DOA4 when playing a friend who would mirror match my Hayate. He knew I would use 4,1,2,3,6P a lot so he would random use it. Thus at least once a round we both go flying into opposites walls

Yes, but that's because the hit effect is occurring on both characters at the same time. The point of the question is that if both hit boxes meet at the same time against both characters, then who will win out since it's a cinematic?

I'd imagine it would be the uncharged hit effect to both characters, but I really am just guessing.

This just occurred to me, and is actually a question regarding the IPL events, themselves, moreso than the E3 build of the game.

As these events progress, will they feature more updated builds of the game month-to-month, or will they all just feature the E3 build?

I wonder if there is a frame deff between each characters power blow.

I would imagine that it's a growing build, sort of like a location test. So each build will technically be new and the one to adjust to the changes the fastest wins! haha

How many new moves and animations are characters going to individualy get? I didn't see that many new ones in this version. Probably because people kept playing DOA4.

In the Alpha demo, the computer and I did our PB's at the same time and it cancelled us both out to neutral. I do not believe there was even a guard break or crush.

Although, I do have one thing to say! Lei Fang's PB charge animation is her Sabaki :236::P: from DOA4. SO, I'm wondering if she can use it to parry you and achieve her PB at the same time!!?! It sounds hot...

That's why I couldn't figure it out. The Arcade screen showed the power blow inputs but not the versus. I kept trying all forms of inputs with :P::+::K: but couldn't get it to come out. That would be cool if it acted a like a sabaki PB.

I was only able to watch day one of the stream, so forgive me if they already talked about this stuff.

Is Tina's frankensteiner (:4: :F::+::P:) now a catch throw? It kinda looked that way when I saw that guy use it that one time on stream, but that was the only time I saw anybody use it (and Tina) so I wasn't sure.

Also, what's the ground throw game like? Is it like 3.1 where you can have guaranteed ground throw follow ups?

It's now an offensive hold, and yes the ground game is more similar to DOAs prior to DOA4 than it is to DOA4.

Why are you trying so hard to find negative aspects of this game?
Haha, that wasn't my intention and I'm sorry if it seems like that. I just wanted a little clarification on the Critical Burst since it doesn't seem at all "broken" like some people are claiming. I'm also more of a visual learner so I tend to prefer a text breakdown versus a spoken one. I know I'm asking some stuff that we talked about one on one before but that was simply so others could get some insight towards some of the stuff you hinted at on stream and I was trying to play dumb so that it wasn't apparent that we discuss items that we shouldn't. =P

Thanks for the response.
