Not that I wanna bring other game chatacters to the mix, but she looks quite simular to Hatsune Mike. Both petite, both cutsey, and all that and Miku wears short and or revealing outfits and it isn't bad. I'm sure if she gotten an outfit like that submition it wouldn't be bad.

Although I love all the Eliot entries, I'm a bit upset there isn't one that is childish/cutsey (like his sailor outfit and cat hoodie) or a little effeminate (like his DOA4 C4)
BTW, I wonder which outfits will win. I hope the Marie Rose idol outfit is one of them, it was very nicely designed. Can't seem to find it on the french forum but if you know the one she had with headphones and the chibi MR backpack, then you'll know what I'm talking about

That's like saying covering a woman or man up completely is fanservice. There's nothing wrong with Marie getting shorts, spats or anything that you can see ordinary children and mid teenagers wear. I'm all for casual wear, but let's not limit a character completely because of how they look ok? Otherwise, we get into the stupid "Can't let women over 35 even be in a game" crap like with Soul Calibur.
I.E. I don't mind Marie Rose having casual wear, but let's not limit it BECAUSE of her size as that's discriminatory to those who are like her. Just limit the ridiculous ones and give her ones that works for her.

Earlier I saw that some people still viewed Marie as a kid so just for kicks I sketched what an underage Marie would actually look like. The main thing to note is the head size.
This probably isn't common knowledge but if someone's head is at least 1/7th total body size, the person is an adult. In the above pic it's more like 1/5th. Don't feel weird about being attracted to her (the adult Marie lol)

I'm not fussed if she gets a costumes with pants... I'd probably never use it though. I like the flowyness of skirts and dresses... or anything that is loose towards the bottom... like Kokoro's kimono's and Helena's C1... anything with a flowy-ness to it I usually end up liking, and using that the most.
Much like with hair, I always go with loose hair options if the character has it. Flowy-ness ftw!

Actually I really like the art (even if Marie Rose is not properly a Tsundere XD) and in general I like the design of the outfit less the transparency of the skirt: it's able to be sexy but cute at the same time, while other outfits appear to be only skimpy. By the way it's not the best one to give to Marie Rose...

May not be for everyone but the little subtle things such as plunging neckline in an otherwise fully clothed outfit can go a long way.
Most of the fabrics in skirts/dresses look stiff than billowy though. They aren't what they used to be but that's probably due to the lack of wind effects in most stages.
