DLC characters...not entirely out of the question

Well that kills the Kasumi Alpha issue (thank God).

Fu and Leon will be in the game, the announcements of Rig and Sarah pretty much confirm the Alpha leak is legit. We can also expect Ein to not be in the game, though I'd really like him to be. Whatever his situation is story-wise, Ein is a very important character in the series gameplay-wise and he should NOT be thrashed like this.

Ein is too itagaki for them to bring him back ... but if they do .. then ... I would honestly be very happy ..

A 24 character roster is quite good ...
Adding some extra freebees is always welcome ... Mybe a VF character and Ein ..
or 3 VF characters and Ein and Tengu and raidou...

If any VF character would come as DLC it would probably be El Blaze seeing how Shinbori likes him ...
I just makes me wonder how Lisa is going to play ... I have a feeling she will have a little bit of "Blaze" going on ..

I think this is the last time I'm going to mention it but... just because Rig and Sarah showed up does not mean the leaked list is 100% accurate.

While the list we have may be the planned list, it doesn't mean everyone will make the cut. Especially considering Team Ninja's tight schedule.

I don't quite remember saying this before but in my personal opinion, Leon could be trashed and nothing would happen. As of now, Bayman already has what "Command Sambo" should've been since DOA2. I don't care a damn about the character's situation in the shitty story the game has but Leon is not popular, no one plays as him except for Erik and a very small bunch. The grappler players in DOA usually pick Tina, Bayman, Bass and Leifang (to use her as a grappler) but at least in DOA4, no one ever played as him, he's not last in the online ranking only because of Tengu. If he makes it in, I'll welcome him because the more characters, the better but he will have to play very differently from Bayman and suffer from a lot of changes in look and personality to gain popularity.

Leon's case is much different from Ein's and Fu's. The old dude and the amnesia guy are extremely popular. Even to this day they're both used all the time in DOA4 online and when you talk to people about the series, there's always a few who mention liking them both. Besides, their gameplay styles are unique and vital to the series, even if Ein shares karate with Hitomi, they're completely different sides of the same coin.

I personally want the entire DOA4 roster to make it to 5 (except Tengu) but I know at least one of them will be removed.

And spinning you in 360s from your leg not unique ?
not to mention carrying you with one hand and throwing you smack into the wall ... (on high counter that shit HURTS)

He was also the only guy apart from bass that didn't look like he was taken out of a barbie collection.
And he was my secondary and tag partner in DOA3 ...

Leon is was and always will be unique and epic ..

He MUST return .. or heads will roll.

A great post reminding the ignorants of leon's pure bad assedness but with all those examples you've forgot the one example that heightens his bad assedness to levels far above the rest of the cast and that is his water grab. the way he lifts his victims in the air by their throats, slams them face down into the water, then proceeds to repeatedly dunks their faces into said water and if that isn't enough afterwards he punts them in the grill. i have no qualms passing on a fighter if they don't include my main(Namco still won't get a cent from me for SCV for scrapping yun seong/hwang) so if leon is scrapped it just makes the choice of choosing TTT2 over DOA5 that much easier for me

Leon and Bayman haven't been the same character since DOA 3, and were even more distinct from one another in 4 and Dimensions (from what I understand. I didn't play it). As for Ein and Gen Fu being more popular, cutting characters due to their popularity (or lack thereof) would be a bad move in my opinion because there will never be a character that absolutely no one plays. Everyone has both a fanbase and a userbase, which is why these decisions shouldn't be made based on popularity alone. For the people who are upset about Ein being apparently cut, Ein and Hitomi are way more similar than Leon and Bayman are at this point, not to mention the fact that from a storyline perspective, Ein has been irrelevant and pointless for the past two games, not including Dimensions. At least Leon still has a storyline going on, and it would be weird to just drop him out of nowhere without at least resolving it. Just to be clear, I'm not saying it's a good thing Ein's gone (if he actually is), just that getting rid of him makes more sense than getting rid of Leon.

Besides, I fucking love Leon.
