Ideas for someone to main?

Okay wait.

1). How dare you. Mila is straightforward, efficient, and practical, and unlike virtually every other character, I never get bored of her precisely because of that. And her inputs may not be complicated, but that doesn't mean she's brain dead easy. The catch to straightforward characters is that theres no gimmick to exploit. You have to just actually get good with them (unlike, say, ninjas, who launch with every jab)

Most gimmick she has is her feints, which aren't as gimmicky as say, Zack's or Christie's Marie's.

2). While I'm not gonna fault you for disliking hair colors (I prefer dyed brunettes over blondes)it's not really obscure coloryou can get that with dying, think its called....platinum blonde or something?

1.) She's supposed to be a Mixed Martial Artist, correct? Well I've seen amateur boxers with more variety in their moves than Mila. (Not trying to start anything here, just giving my own opinion on the character. I know that a lot of people love this character.)

2.) Platinum blonde? Really? The devs must have screwed up the colouring, because on-screen her hair looks straight up white. And I'm playing on a HDTV that has been properly calibrated by a professional. That hair of Christie's is white. I can't think of anyone that would dye their hair white, since it makes them look old because it looks like old-person grey hair. I've seen people dye their hair pink, blue, orange and even green, but never have I seen anyone dye their hair white/silver. Helena has blonde hair. Whatever colour that is on Christie sure doesn't look like blonde. To me the character model just looks off with that white hair. In real life platinum blonde hair still has a blonde sheen to it. It might be very light but you can still see it. In DOA Christie's hair has no such light blonde sheen. It just appears completely white.

I would note that most of Kasumi's launchers are actually kicks and not punches, let alone jabs.

Lets see,
PUNCHES
236P
4KP
33P
(BT)4P
Threshold 3P

KICKS
3H+K
8K
7K.P+K
(Hoshinpo)K
Then u have the bounds... Not launchers but... I guess u can consider them
66K.K
4KK
Same for ground bounce threshold 9K.

If u eliminate double hit moves i say its quite even.

33K, 6K, 4PK

Also if you're going to count 4KP and BT 4P separately, anything that ends in 7K

Aaaaand... time to get this thread back on topic:

I'm looking for a good rushdown character. Preferably a female character. Any recommendations?

Maybe personal preferences, I think Christie having white hair is part of her overall appeal and what makes her Christie.

It may not be a practical color of what you see in real life when people dye their hair but it's how the character was made.

Like Tenryuga already said, Kasumi :D

Is she the only one?

@Rawbietussin:
They could have given Christie a very light blonde tint to her hair. That would have made a world of difference. The white hair clashes with a lot of her costumes. Basically any costumes that don't have a white & black colour scheme make that white hair really stand out. And not in a good way.

I think the problem lies more on the costume selection rather than herself. Apart from black and whites, personally, I think purple looks good on her since her eye color has a deep, smoky bluish-purple shade.

Hitomi of course!! :D She can keep her opponents guessing round after round with her mix ups. She also has decent range.

I always thought Hitomi was an all-around character, not pure rushdown.

She is an all rounder. The mistake many Hitomi players make is that they neglect her spacing tools in favor of a rushdown free cancel offense because it works extremely well online. Offline all of these Hitomi players would get blown up because Hitomi is not rushing anybody down with a 10 frame jab, 13 frame mid, and 14 frame low unless they are slower than her or the player has poor defense/string recognition. Those are mediocre strike speeds.

The proper way to rushdown with Hitomi is to do it when you pick up momentum from 2P, stuns and 6T/Parry. Playing off your opponents negative frames works as well. This way you mitigate the major flaw of some of her best pressure strings: They are easily crushed. Her free cancel and delay/throw game is still excellent here but it is nowhere near as abusive as it is online. Don't believe me you can try it on an experienced player then wonder why you couldn't get anything started.

Technically she's not but she's very strong on the offense (I think @Tenryuga thoroughly explained it) and since you don't want to use Christie or Kasumi why not give her a try?

I never said I don't want to use Kasumi. I asked if there are more choices than just Kasumi, because it's always nice to have more than one character that you can test so that you can see which one you prefer the most.

You are correct about Christie though. I really like her play style, but for the life of me I just can't get past that white hair. I vote they give her hair a very light blonde tint in the next game. Then she would be a "platinum blonde".

Mila is my main, but it really bums me out how limited a move set she has.

Kokoro is rushdown mostly, but she has some spacing tools that are pretty useful. Her KBD is speedy as well.

If they gave Mila the fighting style that Rig uses, and if they gave Mila better costumes then she would have been my main for sure. I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Unfortunately that is not the case. The reality is she has a very boring and very limited move set. (I don't care how effective her move set is, boring is boring). And then there are her costumes. The design team over at Team Ninja must have hit a case of designers block or something when they designed the costumes for Mila, Momiji and Hitomi. These three characters get the worst costumes in the entire game, IMHO. If I had to use one word to describe the costumes of these three characters they would be: Mila's costumes = manly; Hitomi's costumes = boring; Momiji's costumes = ugly.

TN really missed a huge opportunity here. Mila + less-manly-looking costumes + Rig's fighting style = epically cool character. Mila and Rig's fighting styles should have been swapped.

Mila was obviously meant to look boyish in the first place while Hitomi is a casually-dressed plain jane girly-girl. It's how they are made. If you're expecting them to dress provocatively (Tina, Christie, Rachel) or look regal (Helena), then you're obviously wrong.
