The main IGN DOA page has finally been updated with some articles from E3 (actually, right before E3). Most of this stuff is already known at this point, and some of it is even a bit outdated due to the changes in the E3 build, but they're finally up so I thought I'd share.

Bayman:http://www.ign.com/ipl/all/news/dead-or-alive-5-character-guide-bayman/

Christie: http://www.ign.com/ipl/all/news/dead-or-alive-5-character-guide-christie/

Akira: http://www.ign.com/ipl/all/news/dead-or-alive-5-character-guide-akira/

Gameplay: http://www.ign.com/ipl/all/news/dead-or-alive-5-gameplay-changes/

It's saying that Christie's new snake stance is a con? I think it's better now. Ehh, not bad, though. Well he also says that Akira's Knee is unsafe on block so it won't be used much in competitive play. I don't see how, since most moves in DOA are unsafe.

Doesnt it say no snake stance under the con list.

It doesn't discuss if the new "stance" is better or worse, only that the lack of Snake Stance is a con. I don't think many Christie players will pick her up and immediately think the new "stance" is superior to Snake Stance. I do think in the long run they will, but when you first hear Snake Stance is gone you think, "WTF?!"

while it does sound like a very useful tool it doesnt sound like a replacement at all.the snake stance wasnt designed to avoid hits it was to set you up so you could do yours.

In VF, the attack is only jab punishable, so if it's blocked it's not a big deal. In DOA there's no equivalent to that so it's either safe or unsafe. In this instance it's so unsafe you can get pretty much any throw you want, which makes things even worse. And if you mess it up, the attack you'll get is pretty much equally unsafe. There's no real advantage to using it in DOA.

Snake Stance was designed to evade and strike. It's very similar to Helena's BKO, except that you can't really move in Snake like Helena can during BKO. The new "stance" is similar, but different at the same time.

.

Ah, like Kasumi's 7K. Not enough incentive to use. Well worse, because it's not from a combo.
