Curtain Call so good omg Dx They added so much content and improved so many things. I've been playing it nonstop.
I started it with a fully charged 3DS. I stopped playing when the low battery light came on.

I'm still very early in the game, but these are the songs I've enjoyed playing the most so far...

I need to unlock the original version.

I have no shame in admitting I get excited at the sections of 0:54

Just saw there's two dlc songs for FFV and FFIX that are free until the 30th, so get em now. There's going to be DLC characters for 99¢ which is kinda dumb imo. Characters I like too. >>

So far Yuffie is available but in the future there will be Vincent, AC Cloud, Rosa, Krile, Cidolfus, Auron #2 (looks almost the same), and Gau.

The two Aurons

First one is in the game. They give you the cool version and think you'll pay for the lame version lol

I hope it's not Fang. Really bummed because she isn't in the game :(
But I don't want to fork out some extra cash just for the characters. The DLC soundtrack on the other hand I don't mind.

That fraudulent Auron is a joke. I can't imagine any FFX fan, thus meaning Auron fan, paying money for it. He never had his arm in the sleeve in the game. I might be mistaken, but I believe having his arm slung out of the sleeve is some kind of bushido symbol. The removal of his shades and liquor jug only compounds the fraudulence.

On the same note, I'm eager to unlock the real Auron. He will easily be my main character for the BMS songs.

Is there a list of unlockable characters that confirms Fang isn't available? I really liked her, but not enough to pay, regardless if it's only a dollar. I can always use Freya... whenever that is.

With 200+ songs already in the game, I don't forsee any DLC songs worth getting. I suppose they'll hold out on some of the classic favorites though to get fanboys such as myself to blindly fling open our wallets...

Also, this game has reminded me how amazing the soundtrack for FF13 is. Dust to Dust on expert mode puts me in a world of bliss.

Character list- http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Theatrhythm_Final_Fantasy:_Curtain_Call_Characters

Fang isn't in the game but Vanille is, surprisingly. Haven't leveled her up yet but I'm guessing she has death as a boss attack.

There's actually an experience cap for stages, each character can only get 9999 so it's 39996. I managed to hit it using a FMS optimized Rikku + miratete's memoirs + ultimate rank FMS level.

I'm sure they'll add the random battle theme from FFX-2 as dlc because it isn't in the game. Weird they'd leave that out but put in a few specific boss themes. >:/

So I get my hands on Curtain Call and I would like to say I LOVE IT. I'm so addicted (this good and bad omg ) to it I'd make it a point to play a few songs a day!

Though I don't like how they changed all the EMS from the first game to BMS or FMS, that's what bugged me lol.

Wow tbh, I've only played the Lightning saga, a bit of 10, 6 and 4. But this game really highlights the series' musical splendor.

It's subjective... it's arguable... but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in saying the FF franchise has the best overall soundtracks of any videogame. I'm the type that can easily ramble on aimlessly about something I love, so I'll display some self control here and refrain from creating a wall of text.

Also, I realized recently that the (my) best song from FF9, Roses of May, is a free DLC. I had assumed it was a song that had to be unlocked. It's free, so for fuck's sake people, go get it!

And regarding characters, I'm rather disappointed that Freya isn't available... but the disappointment quickly faded once I saw that Balthier is unlockable.

My quest clearing party leader is Balthier. :B Quest party is Balthier, Fran, Tifa #2, and Zack and it works pretty well getting far in FMS stages and killing enemies in BMS stages. Will probably switch out Tifa and Zack at some point.

I am having a hell of a time getting white shards. I haven't found a single quest that gives you them, the only ones I'm getting are through random rhythmia rewards. I've even gotten one with a boss that drops black shards but still no white shards x_x

They are gonna have to work kinda hard to not make it look like crap going from PSP to PS4.

I didn't think it was bad on PSP, once I got used to the controls it wasn't that hard to play. The only thing I had issues with was the camera but just about every PSP game has camera issues.

I'm really hesitant about portable to console ports because of how meh MGS Peace Walker turned out to be on console. On PSP having low resolution environment graphics on a 3D title is common unless the game is extremely big in size, the environment's jaggedness isn't as well noticed and neither are grasses, dirt, and rocks for that matter. When Peace Walker got ported to PS3 everything about the game's look got "upgraded" but looked like all that had happened was that character models got an upgrade, and barely an upgrade at that. The PSP style environment looks the same on the console, jaggedness included, it was kind of a let down that you were playing a glorified PSP game with two analog sticks.
It has become a personal preference that portables get upgraded to portables unless the game is built from scratch again and specifically made for the console it is going to. Resident Evil Revelations looks great for a portable to console game but it is still obvious that it was originally made for the 3DS just by looking at the environment.

Did you watch the trailer though? it looks like 80% better than the psp version... when they do the transition from the PSP into the PS4 version, literally looks like a different game.

I don't know what the hell happened, but Curtain Call has infected me with some kind of FF delusionary state, and I have now started replaying FFX-2, FF6, and FF13... in addition to to flinging 10 bucks at PSN to get FF Origins under the impression that the oldschool charms of the original FF and FF2 would excite me.

I was wrong. FF and FF2 should stay 25 years in the past.
