Thats exactly what im planning to do. If i like it and am going to get one, is there something i have to watch out for? Like a certain brand thats recommended for example? Dont wanna end buying a crappy one lolBorrow one of your friends' arcade stick to try it out when DOA5 comes out.
Dude i hate the xbox pad. Always makes me flip shit if i have to use it at a friends house. Its just sooo goddamn huge compared to the ps3 one.At this point, I can play DOA easily on a stick or a pad (so long as it's not an Xbox pad).

Sounds like its a looong way to feel fully comfortable with a stick but i guess theres no way around it.If you're borrowing it from a friend, make sure he lets you keep it for a good long while. I switched to stick about two months ago and I can tell you it took me several weeks to feel fully comfortable with it. Also, expect to have to relearn absolutely every input again and I recommend you do not try to start with 2d fighters. The inputs are too complicated to begin with. Even something as simple asis subtly different from playing on pad.Lastly, I really doubt you will like playing stick immediately. You will have to keep playing a lot to get used to it; not giving up when it's frustrating (believe me, it will be frustrating). Once you do get used to it, I guarantee you'll never go back to pad. Just playing on pad afterwords, you'll notice just how imprecise it is.
