Why are preview copies of Last Round send to previewers, that don't even care?

Why does Koei Tecmo send preview copies of DOA5 Last Round to game reviewers/game reviewing sites, that seem neither to know, nor to care much about the DOA series?
I really don't understand, how this is promoting the game. As a fan, I actually felt mostly embarassed, hearing them say in different, mostly very sloppily done previews, that DOA is a button masher, that DOA is not really to take serious or that it is mostly known for it's breast physics and ridiculous/skimpy costumes.
I know, sites like Gamespot (which also just recently did a preview) have a very broad reach and might attract some more casual players, that are looking exactly for that. But I don't know, if that is the right kind of customer, that you would want to attract. For the quick buck maybe but not for long term support. I thought, that was what KT was initially going for? You know, "I'm a fighter!" and getting more people to competitively play their game?
Then there was this one preview, which I unfortunately don't have the link to anymore (it was at some point here in the media section). What happened in this about 10 minutes long preview was one of these two "professional gaming journalists" bashing and making fun of DOA's breast physics and the other one stuttering and mumbling like a hundred times: "Well, uh...uhm, yeah, but...1080p and 60fps...erm...yeah..."
It was an absolute pain to watch. I doubt, these two "professionals" did attract anything other than embarrassment, laughter and this free game copy a month early for themselves.
Why don't dedicated fansites/forums, like for example Freestepdodge, also get a preview copy? They do and could do so much for the game, the community and would actually very much appreciate it. :/

They send them copies to create awareness. Gamespot has 1.7 million subscribers on their YouTube channel, and who knows how much traffic their site gets. People from fansites cant get that amount of attention, and the only people that would see their content are people who were going to buy the game anyway.

That tends to happen with the less known reviewing sites who most likely just accepted the offer so that they could have a free game. But that's what a company needs to do to get the title out there. You'll have to wait for an official review from IGN and Gamespot to get a more unbiased thorough review on the game.

Doesn't the game get this "awareness" anyway, when sites like Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers etc. do their final reviews of the game? The previews, that were found here and there on the internet were also mostly by pretty unkown streamers/bloggers/gaming sites. And all of the previewers did not know DOA or did not know it well enough and thus did really horrible jobs spreading "awareness", they spreaded mostly "bewareness". XD

To be fair one of them really was trying to emphasize that it's a good fighter (even if he did seem deeply bothered by the fan service for whatever reason). I think if they played on the new stages it would give them more to talk about rather than focus on 1080hp/60fps.

Europe is deeply bothered by the fanservice, more so than the US.

I visited the Shacknews twitch yesterday, because their website said they'll be streaming again. I asked them if there will be DOA and then they went "ooh, someone's here for the boob physics". I told them it's a fighting game and I'm only interested in the changes of my character, so they made fun of me by reading out my comment in a silly voice. -_-

Nah, it wasn't that serious, but still. Anyways, tt was someone else in their teamspeak, not one of the people that were streaming DOA.

They probably were just trying to be funny...still, that is exactly what is bothering me. Those kinds of "gaming journalists" get the exclusive chance to preview the game, but they don't care and even make fun it. Koei Tecmo is sending their game to the completely wrong places. XD

we've already seen all the costumes so they're pretty much useless to us now since they have no clue what they're doing. i apologize for the venom in that sentence, but Corza's comment has me a little pissed.

If you watch their Friday stream you will see they were responding to the chat with questions to check moves and such. For example we found out that Bass T.F.B.B. is now 16 frames and does 88 damage on normal throw, and the life setting is still 300 hp. Other players asked them to perform moves as well. You have to coach them though with the delay but they're willing to attempt.

Yeah, those 4 are nice people. I will ask them to quickly scroll through Momiji's command list, maybe I can spot something. If there's any change, other than frames.

Don't forget to ask about Rig's new costume! @Boogie, I and some others would really like to see it in action just once. XD
Sorry, for being off-topic... ^__^'

I'll try to be there hounding them to use the men.

I'd also like the team to use Raidou a little more.

I'm glad they're at least willing to listen to us. And they all seem to on some level enjoy the game. They have gotten over a 1000 views so they're at least getting some exposure? Might only be people from the rest of the FGC hiding behind a username while they ask shacknews to wiggle the boobs, trying to make us look bad. That's what I think is happening, anyway! *conspiracy*

It doesn't bother me, but I did find it funny that they're including hundreds of dollars worth of DLC with the preview copy. I wonder if they mention that to the reviewers ;)

I completely forgot about that. Yes, that was also something, that kinda bugged me. We fans have to spend hundreds on the costumes (I have to spend these again, because I switch the console family for Last Round) and these previewers, that don't even care, got the game including all the stuff. The world can be so unfair. XD
