Speaking of Nina, I wonder what her story will be in Tekken 7. Since Jin defeated Azazel, do you think Nina is the current head of the Mishima Zaibatsu? Just trying to add something to the table.

Does no one find it disturbing that not a single d@mn girl revealed in Tekken 7 (minus Katarina possibly) is older than 19? I mean jesus they're even beating DOA right now in the number of teenage girls. Characters like Zafina, Anna, and Nina (in addition to their moveset) provided some variety to the cast. I don't like the path T7 is heading...

No, because a lot of these are established characters. I don't see how anyone can come to this conclusion when there are still characters to be revealed. The only one that seems redundant right now is LC and her only reason for existing is to pull in the younger Japanese audience. There's like what... 3 girls? I don't include Leo, because I assume you mean the cutesy anime archetype teen girl.

Like making Feng a potential main antagonist?

Like giving Zafina more story relevance.
Like introducing Leo to Steve Fox.
Like Xiaoyu being treated like an actual adult.

I mean yeah the endings are dumb but at least there's a chance at something better. We already know this game will be dark.

We have to keep remembering that Tekken 7 on consoles won't be here until 2016 at the earliest.

A lot of people seem to forget this. On top of that, March is the official release. So there's still like a month left, and then add time release characters to that mix. Nina and Yoshimitsu fans will be fine.

Since we don't know what's truly canon in t6(like the endings) it's assumed she took over the zabiatsu and that jin is currently dead

zafina doesn't serve story relevance since the dark stars brought azezel into this current dimenson and since he's dead, well there went zafs importance.

Also, as interesting as it would be for leo to meet steven and learn more about emma, i really really want them to finish nina and steve's relationship because it's hazy at best.

I just want xiaoyu to graduate, that's all want ling to do. Girl, you've been in high school since tekken 3. That panda is more edumacted den u.

All I was saying is that the only veteran girls revealed in T7 are those under 20. Lili, Asuka, Alisa and Xiaoyu. (It's not a coincidence btw) Leo too I guess if you want to get technical. And now we have fighters like Zafina, Kunimitsu, and Anna who are in jeopardy of being cut from the roster.

Alisa is a robot. And yes, it isn't a coincidence because those characters are more popular. This is all based on popularity and hardly anyone used Zafina. She's also a new character. But like, the game isn't out yet and there's still characters after the fact that still need to be released before the console version. Story relevance is a factor in priority this time and I just don't see Anna or Zafina not being on the roster.

Like I said, it's all a possibility thanks to TTT2.

Speaking of, since Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 7 serve different purposes in terms of gameplay, would tournaments be opposed to including both games on their line ups? Ever since Smash Melee and for Wii U were announced on the EVO line up, it got me thinking about this even more. Tag 2 has a variety of ways to fight (2v2, 2v1, 1v1) and the main focus in Tag are Tag Crash, Tag Assault, and Tag Throws. Tekken 7 is going to be purely solo and if certain characters don't make the cut, at least Tekken fans can still use said characters in Tag 2, albeit, with the Tag 2/Tekken 6 mechanics in place. Or maybe I'm just rambling.

I'd rather they drop Tag 2 completely when T7 comes to consoles.

I can only see that being a thing if an overwhelming amount of people want it, and so far it doesn't seem like it.

I only say that Tag 2 should be kept around due to character roster and different gameplay mechanics. Sure, the game has its moments, but I still like watching it competitively. Tekken 7 is a completely different beast with different mechanics and new characters (and cut characters), so Tag 2 and Tekken 7 could coexist on the same lineup at tournaments. Just a thought, but I know more than likely that Tag 2 will be dropped in favor of Tekken 7.

A lot of game series have different mechanics from game to game. The only way you'll see both Tag 2 and Tekken 7 is when there is a demand for both of them (or at least Tag 2). A perfect example of this is Smash 4 and Melee. Tag 2 doesn't have that potential, because already the offline scene isn't as strong as Tekken 6's was. The roster probably has something to do with that, too many character matchups to learn.

Not surprised that the large character roster would turn a lot of people off, but Namco has stated that the Tag series is a "dream match" type of thing, much like the KoF series. They wanted to cram in as many characters as possible, which they did. But even then, most people use the same few characters because of how good they are. Sadly, I do see Tag 2 going the way of the dodo once Tekken 7 reaches down, but it's kind of unfortunate. It was nice having the tag series back, but I am ready to go back to 1v1.

I've never really cared much for stories in fighting games anyway but I never really complained about them. But so help me if it gets in the way of including my mains then f*** the story and the Mishimas tbh. Gameplay >>>>>>> story

Nina will most likely be there and if Nina is there, then Anna will be there (Tekken 4 being the obvious exception). Zafina is fairly recent and I don't see Namco just cutting a fairly recent character. Then again, not everyone can be Lei Wu Long (aka the only Tekken 2 character to be in every game since his debut).

But the mishimas are actually one of the best characters and quote on quote hardest to use in the series.

Do you enjoy playing against heihachi and kazuya? Also to be honestly i wouldn't even put kazuya as one of the top 5 most difficult characters to use. It's way harder to use yoshi, nina, lei wu long and i forgot the other two

Instead of girls (since i know what this community wants) getting cut, why not talk about guys getting cut like Miguel, Marduk, or possibility even Jin since kazuya has a resembling mishima coat like Jin.

Dude, just because we play DOA doesn't mean we just use only female characters. Nobody ever wants their character to be cut, but at the end of the day, that's Namco decision. And do you really think they're going to cut out Jin? When this is the end of the Mishima storyline? HA! Jin is going to be there front and center. The game is still in an early state and the roster has yet to be fully determined.
