DOA5LR PC-version information collection

When shall i start cursing all those guys who made a shitstorm on forums, facebook and twitters?

Them, fuckers with DoA 5 LR on console (so they were speaking but loose nothing cause they already have the pleasure of owning), who participated in whining about lack of content, you stole my way to finally play DoA 5 on my system ><

First off, at least for me, DoA5LR is still on Steam.

Second, if they would pull it from Steam, it might hurt for us who want to play it, but I think it would be better for fans of Fighting games in general. This port is a mess, TK/TN communication with PC players is a mess, and if their FAQ is right, this game is beyond a bad port, it's abysmal.

Third: I will update the OP in a second with a link to the FAQ for Steam users. Read that and try not to cry/laugh (depending on whether you're a PC gamer or a consolero). This whole thing is a sad affair. I'll cancel my PreOrder and rebuy it ONLY if it at least plays decently. I was willing to give them my trust so far, but they disappointed me the whole way.

Edit:

Hahaha, you guys are right! I can still see it since I preordered it, but if you search for it, it seems to be gone.

Yeah it's worse than an emulation based on the FAQ. No custom controls on keyboard really? TN/TK would really hurt their image if they pull this out of Steam.

Still keeping my preorder, I'm willing to take one for the team. They've really dug a hole on themselves, and I expect launch day (if released) to be worse than the consoles.

I'm mostly worried about the implied suggestion from their FAQ that the game will only run if installed on C-Drive.
My Gaming HD is not C, so if that would make the game unplayable, I'm fucked.
Plus, tbh taking one for the Team would mean NOT buying the game in this state. Ports should be done better and companies should realize this.

This is what happens when you get an outsourcing team with little porting experience to make a PC port

this game is beyond a bad port, it's abysmal.

Who really knows? If it's just PS3 version plus some features (hair, shadows etc.) minus some (achievements, gamepad vibration) it's not AS bad as everyone was talking. Good game is a good game.

But! I'm reading further comments here and now i'm falling more in more in panic((

No keyboard remap, won't launch if hdd is not "C", unplayable frametate - THAT WHAT REALLY MATTERS!((
I can forgive every lack of "next gen things it should have had that people are talking about in hundreds of threads", cause that's just some better visuals and - that 2 stages - ooook, they're exclusives to ps4/xb1 (games often had exclusive bonuses in multiplatform).

But software must be a working piece of code.

What FAQ are you guys referring to?
I've linked it in the first post of this thread. It's relatively new, TN just released a day or two ago.

won't launch if hdd is not "C"

Well that's at least what is suggested by their FAQ. I'm not sure if they put it there only in case of troubles launching it, or if installing on C is mandatory. While I asked their support and twitter, I haven't gotten an answer yet (of course...)

The problem for me is the meaning behind this lack of 2 stages. What this mean? That the PC version has necessarily to be definitely a lower porting compared to the PS4/Xbox One version presenting exclusive contents? Or this will be just a temporary thing? Because in the first case I don't see reasons for thinking that even the future DLC contents already hinted as new characters, stages and modes will be released on PC.

It's been a long, long time since I bought a PC game on launch, so I'm actually looking forward to seeing all the bugs and quirks and how the community responds to them... and maybe improves on them.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic as well, hopefully there will be a subsidiary branch of people on Steam with great optimization experience that will fix this potential dumpster fire of a port. Otherwise, the modding community will have their hands full, beyond cosmetics and gameplay.

Oh my god you all just need to shut the fuck up and wait. The fate of the universe does not hinge on the quality of a port of a fighting game, and it's time you all stop acting like it does.

@Woozy I understand that in the end this doesn't change the life of anyone, but like fan of the DoA series I think that the possibility to be one of the first next-gen fighting game to come on PC it's truly an unique circumstance for expanding the popularity and the fanbase: it's just a shame to see that there is an huge chance that this will be wasted tied to silly mistakes or lackings.
