In what way? Looks on a technical level as well as an artistical level pretty unremarkable to me. The original Tales of Symphonia however was imho both an artistical as well as a technical beast on the good old Gamecube. (It also ran in 60fps!)

What I came here to post:
A new gameplay demo of the newest Tomb Raider has been released on Gamescom. For once not just all snow and mountains or darkness and rain. You can actually see something and make out small details. It looks really good:


Hehe, it's as plain as day, why Microsoft bought the one year exclusivity and which other game series they want to rival or even surpass. ;)
That won't be easy:

I see it's another beat up Lara for character development game. :rolleyes: Her running and jumping animations were pretty bad hopefully they get fixed. The front of her hair seems to move like it's underwater, it's really distracting

As for Uncharted I saw they're even going to have Drake's chest hair blow in the breeze. 0:

Her hair moves like it's under water... So it will look great in under water sequences. XD

That ... is amazing. What also is amazing is the news about how Rise of the tomb raider will come out for PS4, I have to get my hands on both of these games when they come out I have a feeling the rest of this year and next year aren't going to be easy on my wallet but i'll pull through.

I was just thinking of the games with my absolute favorite art direction and it is the Bayonetta series and I swear If they ever announced that DOA5 was gonna have a dlc pack made by the person who did the art design of Bayonetta I would lose it.

I'll agree that Dawn of the New World wasn't all that great in terms of visuals, but they later made up for it with Tales of Graces. It's pretty notable in that quite a few people outside Japan seem to believe it's a PS3-exclusive, when that's actually just a port of a Wii game.

Wait ... Rise of the tomb raider is only a timed exclusive?! Because that was the one game I was sad about being microsoft exclusive. So if that's true then that is great news because if I am honest Nathan Drake annoys me so much as a character were as I think Lara is amazing. Both games are clearly beautiful though.
RotTR is set for a Holiday 2016 release for PS4. Luckily I have a playable Xbox One so I can play it day one, besides don't frown I can almost guarantee the PS4 release will either have all Xbox One dlc on disc or offer exclusive content which is why ill be also getting PS4 ver after I buy my PS4 next year.

I like that they actually put the tomb raider back in Tomb Raider, the first game being set in a small jungle was weird as hell. This new game likes as though Legend/Anniversary and reboot had a baby, which can only be a good thing.

(I found them in Neogaf, no one ever states their sources, man. XD) These look indeed very good. Already much better than Duscae... I have the feeling, the Luminous graphic engine will shine the brightest in more compact, enclosed areas like cities or interiors. These will be amazing! Look at the detail of the Lestallum hotel. It really has a Havanna/Caribbian feeling to it. Hotels, for everyone, who does not know, will be the city versions of camping grounds and trailers. Probably much more expensive though... "Fantasy based on reality" ;)

To be fair that was pretty obvious inns and hotels have been FF tradition for a while.

Yeah, they kind of were... XD

I still wonder, if the game will really be open world. I mean, they said it was...but I have the feeling, the way Duscae works (this area will be like this in the final game, it was not just made for the demo), how the map divided in quadrants works and that you will need the car for long distance travel, that there will be separated large chunks of world (probably with load times in between) and that some just won't be accessible. For example, I don't think, you can access the far background in this pic. It seems just too huge, empty and wide:

If you can, I will be honestly amazed and it will be a new generation of "open-worldness" (lol, can I put it like this in English?). And that out of all games Final Fantasy does it first, especially after FFXIII, would come close to a little wonder.

afaik real time means the game's engine is running it while something rendered would be like the DOA4 endings.

It is in-game, running in real time on a PS4. It is taken from this trailer, which Square Enix claims, is all in-game:


Quite impressive really. As I really thought it was rendered. O: And I am usually not easily deceived.

A rendered sequence would mean, that it was made/running on a PC, with the application of heavy post processing effects, to make everything prettier and smoother. Like in a Pixar movie. :)

Oh I understand now, thank you for explaining it to me. If that's in game graphics, then I definitely need the game...it looks so lifelike.

It looks kinda nice though... ;)
But honestly, it's really not funny anymore. :( This is exclusive PS4/Xbone content. There is no excuse anymore.

Also, I don't have a pic for once, but did you notice, that the sweat textures got worse and worse since DOA5 launched? The sweat on the first bikini DLC was so pretty with little, glistening droplets here and there... Now it looks like they fell in...

I don't think you've seen enough Vita games. While the system itself is great and there are plenty of games on it that look fantastic, it really doesn't seem to like water for some reason. It frequently looks more like completely opaque blue sludge.
