DOA5LR Any chance of a PS Vita version?

I really hope Team Ninja re-releases DOA5 LR on PS Vita, especially since DOAX 3 is coming to Vita and there are themes on the Vita. I've heard someone on Gamefaqs said that it shouldn't take too much effort to port this game to the Vita. The person also said the DOAX games sold less than the fighting DOA games. So why DOAX 3 gets an eventual release on Vita and not DOA5 LR?

I own a Vita and would love to play LR on-the-go, but I'll mention a few key points.

- DoA 5+ while it was a good port for a handheld fighter it got left behind without an Ultimate update never-mind a Last Round update since handhelds are not primary fighting game platforms. Think only the Blazblue games consistently got handheld support, but half the reason is likely because people bought it for the pseudo VN experience. Fighting games on handhelds in general do worse in terms of return revenue. That doesn't mean they can't be viable since I do see some handheld fighters almost sell just as well as their console counter-parts.

- Vita cartridges have like 4GB space max. + was at around 2.5 give/take, but a bunch more content [two expansions worth] has been added since then [several more characters, ton of music, more stages, etc ] which is likely to push the capacity. They could get around that by putting stuff out as DLC like what BBCPE did, but TN might see that as a hassle and didn't bother. I mean TN has fucked up the PC port I doubt they will bother exploring the possibility of expanding their vita version anytime soon.

- DOAX games were previously available only on Xbox platforms outside of a mediocre PSP port. JPN didn't buy them because it was on a platform they wouldn't buy and the Xtreme games got shat on in the West which scared away any chance of mainstream appeal. At least the main DoA games at the time had the fighting game element + males which automatically makes it less niche compared to the spin-off in the West.

- DoAX3 on Vita makes more sense now since it's not a fighting game, the Vita is literally the otaku handheld, and it's something fresh for the platform rather then just an enhanced port of vanilla DoA 5 with some exclusive [back then] features.

- There are a ton of non game related themes on the Vita. Having LR themes doesn't guarantee a LR port.

They could, but they just don't bother.

Look at it, they have to optimize the models for Vita and we're not only talking about those who will be in DOAX3. We have those like Jacky, Raidou, etc. Secondly, they have to optimize the DLC models again, which would be a double work for them and not getting extra pay due to cross-over DLC nature and free DLC costumes included in LR. This is why I think they won't make Vita version.

Regarding the size, they can always not include the least favorite/downloaded costumes. I'm sure even though fans will be yapping, some will understand this reasoning.

The Vita barely has any support as it is, Sony doesn't even care about it. They treat the Vita as just an accessory to the PS4 instead of its own entity as a gaming handheld. If the parent company doesn't even care about their handheld, why should third party developers? As mentioned before, DOAX3 on Vita makes sense because of certain features on the handheld and because it's not a fighting game.

^ yea, this is true.

Compared to PSP, Vita is just an accessory; a small tv for PS4.

As a machine, Vita is what they wanted PSP to be. However, it failed again.

FYI Vita actually does get decent JPN third party support despite Sony nearly abandoning it. It's not nearly as dead compared to here. I mean they have stores with aisles of Vita games as oppossed to a lonely small rack in the corner of the store at your average Gamestop.

The Vita has a reliable audience with more niche games that would do better on a Vita then a 3DS or PS4 due to their primary audience demographic. I don't even own a PS4 [Not much exclusive games interest me that is out] yet I'm still getting hours and hours of entertainment off the Vita without needing Remote Play. West Sony doesn't give a shit about it and especially most big 3rd party West developers outside of indies , but then again they did just announce more colors for the Vita so who knows.

Anyway if it was realistically happening they would have announced at the festival or at least TGS considering KT is having a presence established for their games.

Didnt TN leave the PS360 in the cold because "there wasnt enough space" or something like that?.. So what would they say for a Vita port of LR?

"We don't want to work more and optimizing the assets into Vita-compatible while you only pay them extra for once or even not"

Would really like having an updated LR vita version but unfortunately like everyone else said TN abandoned 5 on the vita a long time ago. The Vita version sold 100,000 copies which I guess to them wasn't as profitable as they wanted.

Honestly though the numbers that they'll sell for Xtreme on Vita probably won't be much different so if they can sell 100-150,000 copies for the vita version I'd consider it a success (since development of an xtreme game should theoretically cost less than a fighting one). DOAX1 started off really well and sold over 600,000 copies and the sales have declined since then with DOAP on the PSP selling 150,000. The

If I'm wrong and X3 becomes very successful on the vita maybe TN will consider porting a future fighting game again (or at least some downgraded version of it).

Sorry to bring this topic back up, but I heard somewhere that Tecmo Koei enjoys making games for PS Vita. I found it weird that they will make tons of Musuo (or however it is spelled) games for Vita and not another PS Vita version of DOA5.

Bullskhlaga. All they do is porting the game. They don't even sell full pack (base + DLC sold earlier) on late port.
