Not everyone is comfortable with japans view of sexuality + children dont have sex (at least they shouldn't D: ) so I understand if they tone things down to make it more marketable to a wider audience but personally it's a shame :/

Strangely recurring nerfs and censorship are definitely not a good combination...
It's a beta though. This is the time they're supposed to make changes before settling on what they want for the final build. Best to make the weird ones to figure out what works and what doesn't now, rather than after release.

Because it's still an unnecessary change

welcome to the world of fighting games where that phrase will be typed every time the creators so much as scratch their nose. less sexualised cammy is good, doesnt fit her character and shouldn't be a thing in the first place

i get people being upset about Mika. but way to many fucks are being given about such a minor change that may or may not be permanent.

But, it is. And, has been so every since Cammy's very first appearance in 1993 (aka 23 years ago). Making a big deal about it now is pointless, especially considering what Capcom has gotten away with in their previous SF titles (or their other game series for that matter).

The rise of SJWs brings out all kinds of shitty people. Most Eastern developed games get some flak from the west in regards to women's portrayal, it sucks when it happens but people feel it is their God given right to be loud and proud of the fact that they hate despite completely overlooking the male counterparts such as Vega, the pre-order Ryu, and even (to a degree) Necalli. Don't know if you guys really care for him but Maximilian pointed that out recently and for the most part he is being supported on that (if you dare ready comments).
Cammy camera change, maybe warranted. Probably a better change would have been to angle the camera forward instead of up. For Mika, there is worse in other T rated games (which is what the final rating being shot for is) that could be shot down for worse. It's kinda like how I almost understand DOA getting M ratings but at the same time being confused why it is rated M when aside from characters looking sexy there isn't anything to actually warrant the rating.

Cammy fights in a freaking LEOTARD, technically her being an assassin and wearing that doesn't fit her character(it fits her fighting style and not her character). And for sexualized...THIS is her intro for SFIV:
Her ass blatantly the FIRST thing you see. Her main victory pose in EVERY Street Fighter she's in has her show off her ass, Cammy was meant to be sexualized from the word go. And to argue otherwise only shows how ridiculous you are missing the point...and I actually AGREE that her intro in SFV is too gratuitous in terms of showing cameltoe and crotch...but she was ALWAYS meant to be a sexualized character.

Because people dare raise a stink, it's suddenly too stupid for a "minor" change. Last time I checked, most people are mad because of censorship concerns, which is something to rightfully be pissed off about. For me, I also see it as actually making sense for Rainbow Mika to do that since her signature move...uses her ass. A good chunk of her moves from both Alpha 3 AND SFV uses her ass on some level so there's also that as well.

It doesn't matter if that change is permanent or not, the fact it's even censored or "edited" now after we've seen R.Mika with that for months just seems stupid and completely unneeded.

DOA getting an M Rating is honestly an anomaly at this rate...there really isn't anything that makes it an M Rating compared to other games which deserve their M Rating. The ONLY thing I see on the DOA5 CE box I have...is Sexual Themes..which from the ESRB Website:

  • Sexual Themes - References to sex or sexuality
Yeah...that doesn't seem like it deserves an M Rating compared to this:

Strong Sexual Content - Explicit and/or frequent depictions of sexual behavior, possibly including nudity

Now someone will bring up Partial Nudity...but Final Fantasy XII ALSO has a T Rating for Partial Nudity as well(in fact, a good chunk of fighting games usually has Partial Nudity...including Street Fighter V for obvious reasons). So I believe Team Ninja forces Dead or Alive to come out as an M Rating for their own reasons, not because the ESRB sees it as an M Rated game.

How do you know it just wasn't a design choice made by Capcom/Sony? Why do y'all feel like it's a social justice thing? Why do y'all care?

"Hot Ryu" and Necalli aren't really sexualized though. Not through their costumes nor through their behaviour. They might be bare chested, but you can't compare that to Cammy's and R. Mika's ass and tits completely hanging out and them flaunting their stuff all the time in the game, with the camera crawling into every crack and crevice. They are supposed to be sexy. Ryu and Necalli are supposed to be strong and tough. Zangief too, even though he basically just wears a speedo.
Only Vega is a fair comparison. The developers' intention was obviously to sexualize him. His chest ist bare, but not to show off strength and toughness but to be titillating. Then he also has a pretty noticable bulge in his pants which is better comparable with female breasts and butts. Last but not least the way he behaves is sensual and seductive.

Team NINJA doesn't "force" an M rating. The esrb gives it an M rating. Every game wants to be a T instead of M because it means more sales due to less barriers preventing them. Claiming a developer forces a rating regardless of what the esrb actually thinks is just plain ignorance of the industry and business.

If it was made by Capcom, I don't think the change would have happened this late. And there's no way that this is Sony's doing considering they've backed worse games.

And again, Censorship pisses a huge chunk of people off, I think that's pretty understandable regardless.

Okay, that may be true but it still raises questions anyway.
