all the old FFs on PSN are $10.00
It was the PC port, the port I bought was $15.99 (it took $15.99 out of my wallet). Then I went to look at the deals and it was in the list before you get to "more" for $10.87. I looked it up on google and shortly after releasing the port (like a fucking hour later) they put it on sale until the 12th. I contacted customer support after seeing that's what some other people did and they gave me a $5 psn voucher. Not as pissed anymore but the sale price should have been the price the second it hit the store.

well at least with the PC port you can actually do what everyone wanted, up it to PS2 era graphics while keeping the same gameplay

i was planning on that for awhile but then i realized i just dont care enough to put that much effort into it. im fine with old games looking like crap as long as its universal so it doesn't stick out

I'm talking about the PC to PS4 port that just got released today, it went up for sale on PS4 around 3:15pm at $15.99 and I bought it only to find they discounted it and other PSX games shortly after.

This shit gets too confusing to discuss with how many ports FFVII has

Is that possible?

It's possible. There are speed runs I hear that completed the game in less than 10 hours with timed movements on traveling along with skipping all the dialogue, however the one the guy did was too quick. Which leads to some research that the game also (@SilverForte confirmed it too) included a feature where you can enable a 3x speed increase by clicking L3 along with a Battle Boost feature for R3 (Limitless Limitbreak etc.) and a No-Encounter option by clicking both, which is probably how they are able to hit Disc 3 in a flash.

I was about to say the 3x is great for grinding. The fight boost is good for unlocking limit breaks you get from repeatedy using them.

On emulation and PC ports? Yes.

On real hardware using analog sticks? I don't know.

Someone did beat it fast via a raw console, It was in a community center along with donations for a cause. It was within the same center where some guy beat Super Metroid and Zelda: Ocarina of time within a few hours. There was also someone who finished Super Punch Out! *Blindfolded* along with Star Fox with the standard TV upside down, like who in the world does that.

Which hardware did he use?

PS2 with 2x disc speed, or the PS1 itself?

The one that took approximately 9+ hours was the PS1 raw console with FF7 (Non greatest hits.), SD TV. Abuse of certain glitches such as passing to Don Corneo's bodyguard mansion and Ancient temple tricks. I have never seen it but I did hear someone finished it with the raw console.

The PS2 way was done in 7+ hours. By KartSeven as the one with the fastest time.

The PC one I hear from the fastest time is 2+ hours.

Agreed. One of the issues regarding episodes is limiting certain things and may make the game linear and straightforward, possibly even limiting world map travels or places/quests that were in the original game will get skipped or something. Hopefully that is not the case as I am open with surprises, but stuff like that can happen.

We'll have to see, it could just be split into 3-4 small games kinda like discs too FFVII is a huge game.

I doubt that it would be on disc or anything anyway

LOL you're acting like it's ruined even though you have zero idea how it will work.

They also never flat out said episodic, they said "multi-part" granted, that could be fancy talk for episodic but again, remember that this game was split into 3 discs they could just be emulating that and don't forget that Nomura said he was keeping everything that made VII "great" so cut content isn't likely.

I just really dislike episodic games. :/ It's absolutely not for me. If I'm engrossed in a game, I play the hell out of it and finish even a RPG in about a week. I also can't stand watching TV series. I hardly watch any and if I'm really interested in one, I wait for at least a complete season to be released on DVD. Which is sometimes pure torture...
Other than that I don't think anything important will be cut. That's the least of my worries. I've never even played FFVII (never had a sony console before the PS4), so I wouldn't even notice if something was missing. ;)

Then lets say they do go episodic or with my theory, what's stopping you from waiting until the whole game I out? Push comes to shove that's what I might do.

Also, let's look at the positive here, multi-part could mean we won't be waiting 5-10 years to actually play it *cough* FFXV *cough*
