I wonder how the overworld will be realized. As all the mechanics are going to be updated to modern standards and the game look is now very realistic, I can't really imagine them going back to this type of overworld:

But I also wouldn't dream of a real open world, like this:

Maybe a semi open world parted like FFXII?

I picture them first releasing Midgar up until you get to the world map (if it has one) for $15+ then releasing more three+ months later.

Epilepsy bruh lol

And I wouldn't actually mind that Midgar opening is one of my favourite parts of the game

EXTRA EPISODE 1 - The Turks ($19.99) Play as Reno, Rude & Elena in a extra chapter from within FFVII. (Note: This episode contains spoilers.)

EXTRA EPISODE 2 - Sephiroth ($19.99) Play as Sephiroth in this extra past chapter of Shinra & events on how he joins SOLDIER. (Note: This episode contains spoilers.)

-Insert random comments for jokes-

- Please insert Dis...I mean, please insert Episode 2!

- Tifa's tits are so huge, it takes up 36gigs. They have to make it separate episodes!

- Rumor has it that there was a FPS drop when Tifa's boobs were within screen. Fix it with a patch!

AlphaOmegaSin's response to the Episodic idea to FF7 remake.

patient and loyal fans XD
im sorry, but based on what ive seen so far they're spoiled little shits that finally got there way and are now kicking and screaming when it comes to compromising. so many fans including this guy feel entitled to this remake its hilarious considering they BEGGED for this to happen so many times and now that it finally does they flip out over every little thing.

episodic can be done badly and it can be done well. only one way to find out how this is going to work.

Well It's not what I wanted but I've waited this long so I'd just wait until all the episodes have been released and they release the full version that happens with every episodic game.

Does anyone know why they are doing it and how long will be between episodes?

"We want to give you all/as much of the content of the original 3-disc title as possible, so we're releasing it in multiple parts."

Makes sense. Let's be honest, we'll be seeing FFVIIR when the PS5's good and old if they tried to compress it all onto one disc.

Ew the games gonna play like dissidia? Definitely not interested.
Looks like they were talking about the level of action. KH is a very action oriented game, Dissidia is next in line with action and complexity with a comparison of FF7R being the least action of the three.
“As far as the degree of action goes, it’s Dissidia Final Fantasy, then Kingdom Hearts, then Final Fantasy VII Remake. There won’t be any actions that require a technique. By using the new system, we want to do action battles while also being able to fight while thinking strategically.”
Basically simplified combat, which could be nice given it's combat aim.

Episodic, I hate that shit. Tried several games like that but the one that hurt me the most was Resident Evil Revelations 2. Play a chapter, wait a week. Play another chapter and have to wait a week again. Fuck that, I waited until all episodes were out because interrupting story for that kind of time period makes me lose interest in games quickly. A month after the final episode was out I remembered i had the game and continued playing it without interruption of story. I'm all for games getting put out but I would prefer a company take time to make a complete game rather than push out bits and pieces at a time just to get the thing out as early as possible. I might end up buying the game and just waiting until the whole damn thing is complete before playing it. Would prefer they take two years to make a full game than one year to make most of it and not get to progress for who-knows-how-long at a time.

I like how it looks and will play, turn based action is a bad thing in the modern gaming society and real time is how games draw an audience nowadays. I'm looking forward to it but the only thing that will drive me from playing it often is being episodic.
