Unlocking Characters and Stages was suchhhh a pain..I hated when my data was deleted and i had to redo everything over..BUT its actually a way around this..Cloud saves and Micro Usb..Copy saved data to memory stick and inject it on the Xbox..Boom No unlocking characters

Unless it turns out that Pai and/or Mila or already revealed characters just end up having to be unlocked in which case I feel trolled and there is really no point in having to work for characters we already know are in the game.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. DOA5 has like, no extras, so giving us some "secret characters" or whatever, even if they're already known, can help to rectify that.

I actually like unlocking costumes and characters if it's done well. Good reason to try every character in a game when it's new....pleasant reward for doing so, etc. A bit of flash if you're among the few with a noteworthy unlock A pain if you lose your save. Still, that really only works in a single player world.
If you're making a fighting game and hoping for a tournament presence, have a minimum of two costumes and every character available in multi-player vs. modes. Surprise!

Zach, Bayman, Sarah, Akira, Brad, Eliot, Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi, Ayane, Kokoro, Hitomi, Rig, Bass, Tina, Christie, Leifang, Jann Lee, Lisa,.. Add Helena, Pai, Gen Fu & Mila... So that is 23, so there would be 1 secret character (maybe swap Pai over to unlockable for 2) That leaves one Mystery character. Maybe TN listened to the Leon outcry to return him to be the 24th fighter. We will see later...

Yeah, but I am going on pure assumptions. And, for some reason I just don't see her being playable. I'd label her as just boss or sub-boss (which I hope is the case with Donovan as main boss)

Wasn't she playable in Dimensions though? If I remember all the bosses were playable then, if that's the case (on top of her not being the big baddie here cause I don't think she is) then it would just be a matter of balancing her.

I never played Dimensions and I don't know how similar to Kasumi or how OP she was, but I'm sure balancing wouldn't be too big of a feat. I still think it's a more realistic outcome than seeing Leon. Unless we're actually getting more than 24 characters in which Leon and Ein have more priority over a character like Tengu.

Yeah she was playable in DOAD... But, it was horrible (well, most all of it was IMO). I wouldn't mind her playable again, if they fixed her up a bit.

While the CPU can teleport with her at will, a human user cannot and so when you hold you stay in the same place and, since you technically held successfully, the damage scaling resets as you continue to get hit. She has great OH damage on her and though. I particularly like her a lot because it's really useful for punishing people who wake-up kick.

That first sentence was all I needed to read to read to come to a conclusion, horrible. Definitely looking forward to see what they do with her in 5 assuming she's playable. Just hope she doesn't end up as a gimmick character.

I wonder if I can find some semi-competitive gameplay of her in DOAD... well, that's going Off-topic though.

I'm assuming that the final roster will be the 19 from the August build plus Helena, Mila, Gen Fu, Pai, and Alpha-152 (24 total).

I suspect that Pai, Gen Fu and Alpha-152 will be among the characters that they decide to lock. Maybe they'll lock Sarah and Akira too, since they're guest characters and they locked Nicole-458 last time.
