In game hours it says I'm at 54:22:14.

If I didn't have as much free time right now I'm sure it would have took me longer. Speaking of grinding I hope I'm prepared for how much I'll probably have to do in this post game. At least I can just relax on Gran Pulse now without the storyline holding me down.

My unfinished save was at like 70+ lol I don't even own xiii games anymore plus I'm focusing on just my PS4 which except Type 0 has no FF titles worth playing. Only VII(which I have on steam) and X/X-2 HD which I have on PS3.

There isn't much post game content in XIII, you just have to max out your equipment/crystarium (which is still time consuming) and finish all the cie'th stone missions on Gran Pulse. Despite this and the linearity, i enjoyed so much this game, it's actually my second/third favourite FF game and i played them all, except for IV, V, VI and Type 0 (i will get this one this week though).
Speaking of the XIII series, I didn't like XIII-2 much for how easy the battles were, i mean, random battles are very short, almost all the bosses die before they're staggered.... i hated that, and removing the level cap on the crystiarium didn't help. LR was fine, it has the best battle system of the FF series in my opinion, but i didn't like the story that much, it's kinda rushed.

After I finish the rest of the cie'th stones I'll be moving onto 13-2 so I guess I won't have to fear it being difficult.

Lol all in good fun!

I've heard quite a bit FFVI is the best in the series. I think I'll do a whole list in the order I played everything, my memory's a little hazy though I remember everything I played

-FF
-FFII
-FFVII
-FFVIII
-FFIX
-FFIII (DS remake)
-FFX
-FFX-2
-FF Crystal Chronicles (didn't like this at all)
-FFXII
-FFXIII
Dry spell, replayed older titles quite a bit
-FFXIII-2
-Theatrhythm
-LR
-FFXIV for like 15 minutes when it had a free trial, didn't like it come at me @Aerospark
-Theatrhythm CC
-Type-0 along with duscae
-FFIV (DS remake) was really late to this but I like it

I want to play V and VI but my only option really is emulating and I hate doing that. :/ I've heard bad things about the PS classic versions on PS3 and can't get ahold of a copy of FFVI for the gba for a good price but tbh I haven't looked too hard lol. Really wish they'd do 3D remakes for the 3DS of these two games, it makes them much more playable after so much graphical advancement over the years. I loved 2D sprite games all those years ago but it's hard to bring myself to sit and seriously play one all the way through these days.

How is the first one. That's probably the only game I haven't played (Along with Crystal Chronicles, but I've watched videos and it looks like it can put people to sleep.)

Wow it actually does look a lot better. Crazy that phones have better graphic quality than a PS1. I wonder how Vivi looks?

PS: omg farming Adamantoise is so dull hurry up and give me the trapzedon thing!

If i remember correctly Adamtantoise has a 1% chance to drop the trapezohedron, while Long Gui has a 5% chance. Also, make sure you've equipped the accessory that increases the drop rate of rare items (don't remember the name).
Adamantoise is replaced by Long Gui after completing missions in the cie'th stone circle, even the smaller one (Adamanchelid ?) gets replaced by a stronger version, Shaolong Gui. There will still be an Adamantoise in the center of the steppe though.
The only problems is that Long Gui is much stronger (it has 15+ millions HP i think), it's the probably the strongest enemy of the game, but you can poison it, so if you're unable to beat it "normally" just use Vanille, summon Hecantoncheir and use the infamous "poison+gestalt trick" and death.

If don't get the trapezohedron, you still get 200.000 CP (400.000 if you have the x2 CP accessory).
If you wanna keep farming Adamantoise make sure Vanille has Belladonna/Malboro wand, debuff and spam death xD (each debuff increase the chance of death by 1%)
Edit- here's a comparison

Well after some thinking I've decided to buy Final Fantasy XIII-2. It was only £4 and on the Xbox store there is a discount for all the dlc for £11.39. So its not expensive and honestly I love Moogles but Mog is so ugly in this game so I will definitely be changing his/her appearance.

From what I've read and what people here have said the gameplay is great but I should probably shut off my brain when it comes to the story. I don't even know why they made a sequel because the last games story came to a really nice and fulfilling ending.

They made a sequel because the game was left at a cliffhanger, It's Square Enix's way of grasping your money. There is a loop hole there, If it does not get a sequel the game would of been your typical forgettable adventure. If it does get a sequel, it was a way to obtain feedback and extend the use of the graphics engine to please a certain crowd as well as milking a franchise because they want accumulate ideas for future games.

To be fair, they should of stopped at XIII-2 and given it a proper ending at XIII-2. The issue with XIII-2 is that it has a shit ton of plot holes in a game because everything is a clusterfuck on what is happening (you even have to do optional sidequests that's actually part of the story just to get the actual bit/left out portion on figuring out what was going). However, it is by far the best one in terms of creativity. There was potential in this but they decided to say "Hey, we knew what we were doing with the story midway...but we can't figure out how to finish it, but my boss is telling me to make money so I will loop hole money! let's confuse them and make another game, they won't realize it until they finish game!"

FFXIII was? I know XIII-2 was (hated this ending hated hated hated it) but I don't think XIII was. I feel they retconned XIII's ending in the shittiest way possible to squeeze out a sequel because there's zero mention or signs of what XIII-2 said happened in the original ending.

Meh since I can't replay XIII maybe I'll try XIII-2. MEH ):< I know this one isn't a dual layer so it should work.

Edit- holy crap the old gal can still read a disc

Looks like they redid the character models unlike FFVII where all they did was add mouths.
