IMO what TN is saying is "We want Helena to be a technical fighter" is some BS crap that they pull out their asses. I dont play as Helena at all but she was always a interesting character I want to master next so she will be one of my main fighters. And I think they're just saying the"technical" word so that Helena fans dont have to be worried and forget about it and call it a day, NOPE!!, it's NOT happening. Im getting so sick and tired of TN removing shit that works for dumb reasons. :mad: they already mess up Hitomi a little bit by removing my favorite moves like the tiger claw attack from her "kick down kick" & the knee kick to the back
in the head from her Azusa-Yumi is gone! and dont get started on Hayate...........lets just say he SUCKS now. But removing Helena's most importent combos is the most RETARDED shit TN has ever done. :mad: They NEED to start listing to their fans & step their game up RIGHT NOW!

Man I can't wait to get internet again & be back on my computer. of her moves hurts her A TINY TINY BIT, but I did said Hayate is weak BUT, he still as strong as ever before just like Hitomi. ;) so a few moves gone doesnt bother at all like it used to be. As long as DOA5 being the best in series & live up to the hype I would be very happy. :) PLEASE READ THIS SO YOU

Lmao Hitomi sucks. She just hits like a truck sadly you have to make so many good reads to get to that damage. Only reason she is decent is because of that damage. . . sadly she will fall off quickly unless someone is really good at reading minds.

Hitomi's main reasons for staying viable is that she still has punch parry. That alone makes it a tiny bit easier to control your opponent. Still doesn't matter though because her main way of getting in is 3f+k but that's just to get in and try to make a read. Once you do land a hit you have to either force an early launch game or play with stuns and hope for the best.

I'm not really complaining about Hitomi though because I understand the type of character she is so I'm not surprised.

Helena was literally bko loops and that's it. She hit p+k to go for a crush when pressured and mixed you up with mids and throws into a loop.

They took out the ground game so I'm not shocked. Her being unsafe into transition means little to me because the transitions in this game aren't meant for on block like other games, it's meant for when I stun you I can go into whatever stance. Though she should be able to go into BT on command and not have to go through hoops to do it.

A lot of the suggestions have been pretty good. I can't stress the importance of making the transition from her normal stance to BKO faster. The timing has always been very strict for Helena to go from normal stance -> BKO -> BKO 2 to effectively dodge a mid. Then when the Mid gets dodged, the rewards are disappointing damage wise.

In an ideal world Helena going into BKO would be the same speed as a 1F.

As previously stated a low throw out of BT and BKO would make a big, big difference.

Useful moves out of BKO 22 would be nice.

As mentioned before, being able to go into BT from normal stance would be great. It would be even better if Helena did a side step while going into BT.

Mid Punch & Mid Kick Limbo stuns would make a big difference.

And of course, more safe moves.


It's a bit sad that Helena has been weakened. It's funny they talk about wanting her to be a technical fighter, when Akira is in the game and he has several things going for him. Oh well.

0 Frames? In DOA4 it's 17 frames I think, maybe 13 frames would be good.

A BT Low throw would be useful so she had some way of deterring people from countering strings like 1PPK. But they are not going to create new moves at this point.

Useful moves out of BKO 22 would be nice.
6P is good for interrupting, seeing as it comes out in 12 frames, it will beat out any low speed wise.

That would be an okay addition, then again BT is not particularly useful whilst in neutral so I'm not too bothered about being able to switch outside of mix up.

Helena's main strength in my opinion is her mix ups so giving her a mid punch and a mid kick limbo stun for mix up would help her greatly.

And of course, more safe moves.
This should never have changed, making her really unsafe was just fucking stupid.

Helena is the MOST technical DOA character but honestly no character is particularly technical in DOA, it's just not that kind of game.

Well, at least they know. Hopefully they do something about. All we can do is wait until launch and see what happens.
