I'm not really seeing Taki in Master Raven's design personally. I can't really think of anyone specifically that I can compare her to.

Isn't that a good thing? Shes pretty good in FR so you should be glad they aren't nerfing her.

Edit: looks lije they made Asukas Demon Slayer better, nice!
Hell no XD. She's not that great, her eldewiss is still slow because players can't react to a low, she's still linear, unsafe, and just not that good imo. She can't be nerfed because there's nothing to nerf XD I don't care about the other characters since they seem to just be getting better

I'm surprised fundoshi returned. They should have just added Lee's trunks briefs, it makes no sense that American and non Japanese players have fundoshi, but I did like the one pieces, I used the striped red one for Sebastian and I'm happy everyone can use them now.

Rofl Poongko wasn't exactly going to stay for Tekken long, he was going to play the game casually for the most part.

Regarding Akuma, the ones in orange are traits that had to be 'Normalized' (inner abilities that shouldn't affect the way he plays or in some cases, you could call it a nerf but not really). The ones in red are the factors where he didn't exactly needed to get nerfed but rather making the game harder for the character for necessarily no reason. (Cannot speak for the ones in white according to them.)

Akuma:

All of Akuma's specials now all do 1 chip damage on block.
Hadouken (qcf+1 / qcf+2) damage decreased.
(YES, 3D fighting shouldn't be focused on this.)
Shoryuken (f,d,d/f+1 / f,d,d/f+2) changed properties on hit when colliding with a power crush, damage on the move is also decreased.
Demon Flip 1 damage decreased.
Demon Flip 4 damage decreased.

Demon Flip 1+3 / Demon Flip 2+4 frames after it were made worse.
Air Tatsus (Air qcb+3 / Air qcb+4) plus frames on block made worse.
(He's already *unsafe*, no need to make it worse rofl.)
Standing (2) damage decreased.
Standing (4) damage decreased.
Standing (f+4) damage decreased.

Standing (d/f+1,2) pushback on block shortened.
Standing (d/f+2,1) 1st hit damage decreased, 2nd hit plus frames on block improved.
Standing (d/b+2 / d+2 / fc 2) damage decreased.
Standing (d+3) properties on hit at the tip with an opponent changed, damage decreased. (?)

Sweep (d+4) on hit knocks down the opponent further away.
Standing (b+1) damage decreased.
forward, forward 4 (ff+4) frames on block made worse.
While Running 1 (fff+1) bug where it becomes unblockable on an opponent already guarding a different move is now fixed.
While Standing 2 (ws+2) frames on block made worse.
Tsunami Kicks (ws+4,4) frames on block made worse.
Neutral jump 2 damage decreased.
Neutral jump 4 damage decreased.

Forward jump 2 damage decreased.
Forward jump 4 damage decreased.

Fixed a bug where Akuma's sidethrows will not come out during sidestepping/sidewalking.

To be fair, that Yoshi player was getting caught by setups and not by Akuma. The issue here is that some of the players using Akuma were familiar with Yoshi minus Poongko who's playing by most reads. Yoshi players as far as I know, roughly accumulate their situations with characters in the roster but simply had no strong idea on how to approach Akuma because he's "new". So what do you do? you either buff Yoshimitsu or absorb the knowledge, not the other way around. Instead, Yoshimitsu got nerfed for who knows why..plus Lars was improved when he necessarily didn't need improvements.

Just for the sake of reference, there is a huge difference between getting proper nerfs as well as catering. FGs suffer a huge stigma in regards to patches as well as players showing their true colors on what is necessary or not, catering shouldn't be a thing for players because the goal is to make the playing field of both sides suffer equal terms, one side should not be granted extra privileges to make things easier for them aside from diversity on which character they like for proper choosing.

With that aside, there are definitely some stuff that Akuma needed to be checked and rage situations were definitely one of them along with wall damage scaling that leads to death and that ridiculous combo that can be performed via general TAS (Tool Assisted) that wouldn't exactly be possible in human standards.

I'm pretty indifferent about Akuma now, all he's doing is overshadowing the game, I was never happy about his inclusion, I would've preferred Ryu way more. You might as well call this Tekken 7: Akuma's Retribution XD. At this point I'm more worried about Lili, Claudio I know is already in good hands, and LC is just bad.

The swimsuits I just saw...they're not that great. The guys all got Heihachi's T4 Fundoshi...Akuma's thighs are monstrous! 0_o Bob, Leo, and Shaheen got the vintage one pieces, and the girls got knock off DOA DLC bikinis, just less sexy. The additional generic summer items and accessories are actually good, I like the LED cyber glasses.

I think it's fair, he already gets chip damage which no other characters can do unless offline in previous Tekken games. They handled it well too. they didn't over nerf him at all he's still actually playable.

To be just and fair, he never overshadowed the game. The "players" who picked him did, because that's exactly what happens when you test a character who has never appeared in the series and starts smacking Tekken players. Taking advantage of the unknown. When you watched the Yoshi player, he was falling for setups that other players wouldn't fall for due to some players knowing not to disrespect certain moves and launchers because of familiarity.

There were definitely some stuff he clearly needed changes, but I can definitely assure you that there are some notes (Not just Akuma, look at Yoshi and other characters) that had changes that were nerfed, most of it was indeed catering to a degree, luckily most are still playable.

I agree DB, but you have to admit, Tekken 7 wasn't as popular at the time as say SFV and MKX. Akuma being added is what really got players in the west and gaming outlets raving about the game again, that FR trailer imo might as well have been for SF vs. Tekken, Akuma literally overshadowed everything in that trailer and he's the number one used character in the arcades atm. Players who use Akuma in the console release 7/10 will only play for him, especially SFV players who are disappointed that he didn't make it into the game. I agree that players probably didn't know how to deal with him, but now enough time has passed for people to have an idea, and even then he's still the most played. it's just something that happens, whenever a solo guest fighter from a different game with a different style and controls is added, it just happens. Mai is definitely imminent for DOA, I can guarantee tons of KOF players who don't give a flying fuck about DOA and who trashed the series and said it was trash will only play for Mai, just look at Max...

Thank goodness the nerfs weren't that bad, he should definitely be easier to stomach though. I've played SF so I'm pretty prepared for the countless low sweeps and stuff myself.

Akuma still has some worse stuff that isn't removed. He can land a guaranteed Raging Demon from a CH jab, like that is absurd.

Aside from character usage, he's actually only moderate used (arcades/players alike). There are only 4 Akuma players so far (I'm aware of) that plays Akuma via Tekken. Everyone else sticks to loyalty and other characters. Character using varies and there is no definite number to determine what character is truly picked the most, but majority of Tekken videos I've seen up to date wasn't very grand with Akuma using. If there's one location that was Akuma entirely, it was the day Harada showed up to the arcades and told them to pick Akuma in the event with cosplayers.

I dislike Tekken 7 with a passion (#itsyourfaultsoulcalibur6isnthappening) but I guess you guys might be interested to hear that Harada will be on Gamescom in Cologne next week and he will be signing your Tekken stuff and chat with fans each day for an hour from the 17th to the 21st in hall 8 at the Tekken 7 booth:
